BabyDanKitchen Safe Silver Metal Cooker, Stove and Hob Guard, Adjustable, Heat resistant, Adhesive, 39 - 72 cm

We have a four-year-old who won't go near anything hot after a nasty experience and a one-year-old who we would rather spare the same kind of experience. We decided to buy the guard although it is expensive, mainly because there isn't really anything else on the market.On receiving and using the guard, however, we felt that it was worth every penny.The guard arrived in a flat packet and, upon opening, proved very easy to assemble. You have to bend out the two sides, which are folded flat for postage. There is no hinge and you simply bend the metal sides out to 90° but this isn't an issue at all. The metal is of a thick enough guage to not distort the main body whilst folding out the sides and the finishing around the corners, surprisingly, didn't flake despite having to use quite a bit of force to bend the strong metal. Because of the way that the guard is designed it isn't possible to bend it in the wrong place.Once fitted the guard is high enough for small children not to be able to hook their fingers over the top, unless your counter is exceptionally low. It also extends and retracts readily to fit the hob so you can make it as wide as you wish. We have made ours very wide so as to leave space at the sides for frying pan handles, which can obviously no longer stick out over the front of the hob. Not being able to have pan handles facing front is a plus in itself as it prevents one from accidently leaving the handle of a hot pan hanging over the front of the cooker, where it may be knocked or, worse, grabbed by an exploratory little hand.The guard is supposed to be secured to the counter top on either side of the cooker by long, strong sticky double sided tape (supplied). We personally haven't stuck the guard to the counter for a few reasons:1) It is too high to be grabbed by our one-year-old, who cannot reach over the top to get a grip on it and pull. This means that it would only be possible for him to push in the event that he was able to get close to a hot hob and if he pushes the guard back he will only be able to push it towards the hob, away from the counter edge.2) The hob sticks up from the counter, providing an edge which prevents the guard from being pushed back.3) Not sticking the guard to the counter top means that it can be removed and cleaned easily.4) If you need the un-guarded hob to put, for example, a large hot object from the oven such as a pizza stone, then the guard can be put to one side easily.Owing to the fact that it is made of thick guage steel, the guard pretty heavy and certainly isn't going to break, ever. If you are starting out as a young family and plan to have several children then this guard will last the duration and be passed on to friends / charity shop afterwards.

does the job. very good value for money

Smart design and very simple! I do not use the stickers as it is easier to wash it when it is not attached to the surface. Heavy enough to sit still, but you can always move it further if you have a bigger frying pan or casserole. I feel safer myself using this item!

Fitted to a standard UK gas hob with 4 burners, it got so hot that I burnt myself when I accidentaly touched it. Created more of a hazard for my todler then not having it on removed immediatley after first use. Might work for electric ovens but do not buy for gas hobs!

There have many of these on the market over the years but the current choice is very limited, particularly for free standing gas cookers like ours. This was cheaper than the only obvious alternative, it was easy enough to install, with each side being stuck down to the adjoining worktops. The worktops were cleaned thoroughly with alcohol beforehand, so I am hoping that the adhesive will hold this guard in place for a long time to come, unlike some of the reviewers' experiences.

This is the most useful child safety device that I have purchased! I have an electric hob that glows red and would probably attract little hands. This covers the glow, and keeps little people away from the cooker. Its quote sturdy if they ever did manage to reach onto cooker. Obviously I would still never leave my little one in the kitchen on his own or let him touch the cooker. Toddlers are so quick though, this is a good device to stop a anything awful happeningif they do manage to get to a cooker whilst it is on. Its adjustable so fits different sizes. Mine is still going strong after 1 year.

Very helpful and decent looking product. Did amazing job by keeping kids away from the risky area, but please do not still let kids get close to the stove alone. Its material is somewhat head resilient too so it does not become too hot. Our first one lasted 5 years after which the adhesive tape to stick the guard to cooker lost its power, but it is sufficiently long for the price and service provided. I have order another one as we have a new toddler ready. Grey/silver color matched most common kitchen goods.The only thing I can say is that it can be a bit tricky to clean since it sticks to the cooker and if you are not careful then you can make it lose, but then I have seen other models and they all have the same issue.

Bought to prevent a puppy from putting his paws on a hot gas hob. Works a treat. Also good to make sure you don’t accidentally spill anything. Not seen any evidence of becoming hot, as mentioned in other reviews.

Der Herdschutz ist im Vergleich preiswert. Die Montage ist leicht und der Schutz ist ebenfalls gegeben. Was uns besonders gefreut hat: der Schutz passt auf unseren freistehenden Amica Herd mit einer Länge von 50cm.

Con la seconda figlia mi si ripropone la necessità di coprire e proteggere i fuochi della cucina, la prima volta avevo preso uno della Prenatal ma essendo in plastica ha funzionato ma si è presto sciolto con il calore e risultato poco pratico.ho provato questo Baby Dan protezione fornelli e lo trovo decisamente straordinario, scatola perfetta, istruzioni chiare e tempi di montaggio...... pochissimi minuti. è regolabile in larghezza e reduce dalla prima esperienza studio meglio le distanze in modo che rimanga un po' più distante dai fuochi in modo che non interferisca con le pentole in maniera troppo invasiva. ormai è montato da un paio di settimane e ne sono contentissimo, si scalda pochissimo, il biadesivo tiene alla grande, risulta veramente stabile ed efficiente. Ricordo che l'importante è pulire bene la superficie (sgrassare) dove appoggerà il biadesivo, il massimo contatto ne determinerà la presa e la durata dell'incollaggio. Ritengo di consigliarlo davvero. Ottimo rapporto prezzo/risultato.

Fácil de colocar y estable. Se limpia bien. Es discreto y evita que los niños lleguen a la placa. Muy Recomendable.

Article correspondant parfaitement à la description, la livraison a été faite dans les temps et le produit était en parfait état. C'est la deuxième fois que j'achète ce produit. Ayant été convaincu de son utilité et vu la facilité de montage, j'en ai acheté un autre pour mettre chez les grands-Parents. Comme il est possible de retirer la protection tout en laissant les fixations, quand mon fils n'est pas là, il suffit de retirer le tour et dès qu'il arrive, 4 petits écrous à remettre et la plaque est de nouveau protégé.
