Sweet and sexy with some suspense
While I liked the first book in the series, Untouched, I LOVED this book. I guess the characters matured and I was just more connected to them here. Fitz grew more of a backbone as the book went on and he gained more respect from me. Cadence also became even more of a strong woman who really proved to be a survivor. Her secret was the driving force in the book and made things very interesting. I was really rooting for this couple to get their well deserved happy ending.

Well Written Second Chance Story
I really enjoyed this story from start to finish. In this second book of the set Ms. Willink did not give away anything, and left it up to the reader to follow a very well crafted plot from beginning to end (and thank you for not writing a prologue as in the first book). The characters, whom we met in Book 1 Cadence Untouched, are back in this one, with some additions. But this will not be a review with spoilers. Cadence was a teenager when Book One closed, and she's now in her mid thirties, running a non profit organization named after her dog and her favorite flower. It was easy to like Cadence the adult. Personally, I didn't agree with some of her choices, but that doesn't matter, because the reader is reading, not living Cadence's life. Fitz was the same Fitz as he was at 22 at the end of Book One. He was still operating under the thumb of his father, but this time he's stepped up a bit, with Devon still at his side as his wing-man, and he's raising a son.The characters of Cadence and Fitz were well developed and their personalities flowed well through one book to another. I had wish that Devon had a bit more development, because he played a pivotal role in at least two spots in the book, but we still didn't know enough about him to form any opinions. This was a well written second-chance love story. There are some twists and turns in this book that you would not expect, if you are judging it on the first book, but after I'd finished it, I realized what Ms. Willink had intended on doing and why she wrote Book One. Book Two, without Book One would have been a book that was just ok, because the reader would not have had the benefit of the emotions and intimacy of the first book. I'm glad she did it the way she did it, even though, as I said in my review of the first book, I had my own issues as to how it was written. Overall a good second-chance love story from the pen of Dakota Willink.

1st book was awesome but 2nd authors political views
This could have been a 5 star but because of the authors 1 sided view I rated it 3 stars. 1st book had no political views and sucked me in quickest! The 2nd told a heart wrenching story about immigration. I had to skip over a large portion with the immigration story line portions. Only because its 1 sided. The story she tells does happen today. But there was no other side told where citizens are killed. Skilld author! But I don't want to pay for a book to hear 1 sided political views.

Love Trumps Hate
I really enjoyed this book and the twist on politics. I also came to appreciate the first book even more because it really strengthened the characters connections. This book even came with a few twists that I wasn't expecting.Well done second chance romance with great characters.

What a great read
The conclusion to this beautiful 2nd chance love story will have your heart in twists! The 2nd book left our girl finding out she was pregnant was a guy she couldn’t be with bc of his previous obligations but that doesn’t stop him from loving that girl. 17 years later it took Fitz and cadence to find each other and she’s holding a secret that could tear them apart. There’s def some twists in the story but will they get their HEA.

The truth comes out and all ends well
Enjoyed the book but I'm more comfortable with PG-13 level sex. Disappointed with how you treated telling the kids about Cadence and Fritz's earlier relationship.

Sweet, 2nd chance
This book is an interesting tale of young love reconnected after years apart. I liked book 1 where it had the teenage innocence, now in this book the characters are older and more mature. The question now is if they get can get their stuff together and make it work.It was a good book that engages the listener. It had a bit too much political mumbo jumbo for me, but that could be just my opinion.I felt the narrators did a fantastic job portraying the characters in this book. Overall, it earned a solid 4 stars from me.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Cadence and Fitz
I loved this story of Cadence and Fitzgerald. From first love to their career going in different directions and a daughter that fitz doesn’t know about.
