Apart from appearing somewhat phallic when used on hand-held gun mics this shield works well on screening ambient and wind noises. Just keep it out of frame when recording talent. Better on camera or boom as it is far less obtrusive than those furry deadcats, yet in my opinion equal - if not more - effective.
