Laura Ingalls Wilder: The Little House Books: The Library of America Collection: (Two-volume boxed set) (The Library of America Collection, 229)

I bought this for my partner and he is delighted with it. The books look great on any book shelf and Ingall's writing is second to none. Very descriptive so no images needed really. Very entertaining yet informative regarding how frontier life was for America's pioneers.

A beautiful presentation. All 9 books together. They will survive being read over and over and still look great on the bookshelf. They look the classic they are!

Beautifully-bound set. I am very pleased with the quality and that they are original stories.

A real stroke of luck to find this terrific series of books bound in hardcover. Perhaps a little expensive but if - like me - you like to display your titles on shelves, well, paperbacks just aren't the same. I would like also to recommend the entire series on CD's read by the wonderful 'Cherry Jones'.

This edition is composed by two magnificent volumes, very well bidden, carefully edited, complete works of the "little house" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The only thing missing that prevents these of being the ultimate edition of these novels are the illustrations by Garth Williams that by now are so perfectly imprinted in the recollections of the reader when one thinks of L. I. Wilder's novels. Don't get me wrong, Laura Ingalls Wilder's writing live perfectly by its own. Is just that generations of readers are familiar with the illustrations that seem so fitting and are currently not available in any hard-cover, noble, edition.

I read the books as a child and decided to buy them now to give to my granddaughters (eventually). They are beautiful books and well worth the money. :)

This book set is not simply a children's set of books that is discarded when the kids grow out of it. It is a treasure to keep. The hardbound and shiny jacket gives it sturdiness and the good quality of the print and the way everything is presented make for a lovely accompaniment to the DVD set of the whole series The Little House on the Prairie. I had bought the DVDs for my children and they have taught them some good life lessons. This set of books will go to them now that they are both grown, to pass on to their children.

I grew up watching the show Little House on the Prairie. Laura Ingalls is my favourite author.She has brought the experiences of a pioneering family alive in the series.Heartwarming events,difficulties,the way the whole family faces all these adventures are all communicated superbly.I am glad I got the whole series!!
