Like Brushing A Husky Carpet
My roommate, who has long hair, and I have four cats. I have a mild cat allergy, so they are not allowed in my bedroom. The photo is what I pulled up from the carpet in my closet. The amount of fur and hair and rice from a bag my cats murked that came out of my living room and hallway was astounding. I could make a whole new gross cat. It'll probably save me good amounts of money, seeing as the orange male likes to eat fuzz. It's gonna save my vacuum seeing trying to vacuum my living room once recently clogged up my whole tube real good.Took me a good hour to get the main areas of my apartment. But we're not good about vacuuming, and one of the cats sheds like it's a challenge.Highly recommend for anyone who has people or pets in their home who shed like crazy.

Great for cat fur on rugs that are hard to vaccum
I love OXO Brand stuff so I being the servant of several cats, I had to try their Fur Broom. And it works great. I have mostly laminate and hardwood flooring but I have a few rugs in the house. No matter what vacuum I try, they just never work well on rugs. Enter this outstanding Fur Broom. It easily collects all the cat fur you see.. and a lot you don't. I was astounded by how much was essentially invisible. I sweep it all right off the rug and then my vacuum sucks up all the nasty fur and dirt from the hardwood. I wish I had had this handy dandy tool years ago. Thanks OXO!

Magic in a house of long haired humans
I am tired of cutting our hair off of our vacuum brush for carpet, so I am using this as a pre-pass before vacuuming. Wish I'd found one of these years ago. And OXO is always a trusted brand.

Works well for me, but your results may vary
Overall, this is a pretty good broom (as it should be, given that it comes from OXO, well known for making quality home goods for a reasonable price) and pretty good at what it claims to do (picking up fur) if you’re in the right circumstance. The key is understanding how it works. This broom works largely by generating static electricity and leveraging that to attract/collect the fur. Sure, there’s some measure of scrubbing ability, but that’s not going to “pull” the hairs out, just loosen them.To that end then, it won’t pick up ALL hair/fur in ALL situations. Static electricity isn’t the world’s most powerful suction, so it has to be a case where static itself can overcome the hair’s weight/level of being embedded in the surface. This means it WON’T work for deep pile carpets nor will it work for very heavy/long hairs and heavy/long fur (except on a smooth surface like hard wood where it can just push them around as any broom). What it DOES work well for are shorter hairs on things like furniture upholstery and low pile carpets/area rugs or shorter hairs on hard surfaces. Which are just the kind of fur that our friendly Jack Russell mix likes to leave around and just the kinds of surfaces (a sofa, rugs and hard wood floors) we happen to have for him to leave them on. So in our house, this broom has been create - it picks up the hairs well from the soft surfaces and gathers them on the hard surfaces and overall makes it much easier to clean (most of the hairs stick to the broom itself, which is then easy to rinse in the utility sink and the hair goes right down the drain! The broom is lightweight and good quality. I haven’t had any issues with the handle coming off as some others have reported and I actually like to take the handle off sometimes to make it easier to do the sofa with just the broom head. On the whole, this has made the task of cleaning up much easier and I love it - but I can’t recommend it for ALL situations (we have one higher pile rug it just doesn’t do much on) and so that’s why I removed a star. But if you have a shorter/finer haired furry friend and mostly shorter pile rugs, give it a go!

Self-disassembling is one of its problems.
The connection between broom and handle is not as secure as it should be. In addition, the broom leaves too much fur. I say go a Dyson mini vac.ith

Oxo Hair Broom
This broom is made well, as it feels sturdy and the material isn't likely to give out anytime soon. I did find the broom to be too good to be true. It takes a lot of work to be able to collect hair, let alone cover a large area rug. It tends to gather the fur/hair into a masses, but not in the rubber bristles on the brush. You can then vacuum the piles is leaves, which is silly because I could have just vacuumed in the first place. So while the broom feels great (& I highly recommend Oxo) I can not recommend this broom.

Great!
I have one dog with short hair but somehow that hair is everywhere. This broom has helped to keep it all under control, especially on my carpets!

Perfect for hardwood floors!
Oxo is my go-to brand for quality home products and I'm happy I tried this one. I was excited to try it as I have a Jack Russell terrier with wiry, white hair and dark, solid floors...What I liked:-Extremely lightweight and easy to maneuver-Solid construction, well made-Simple to rinse off and clean-Effective on my home's hard surfacesWhat I didn't like:-The handle comes loose fairly easily. I've had to tighten it twice now-It only really works on hardwood or smooth floors. Doesn't do anything on area rugs, shaggy surfaces, or thick carpets.-It doesn't pick up the hair- just pushes it into manageable piles. You still need a dustpan or vacuum from thereIf your use case sounds similar to mine I think you'll be happy you got it! But if you're looking for an effective broom on carpeted or soft surfaces, you're best served trying something else.
