When Chekhov saw the long winter, he saw a winter bleak and dark and bereft of hope. Yet we know that winter is just another step in the cycle of life. But standing here among the people of desired things™ and basking in the warmth of their hearths and hearts, I couldn't imagine a better fate than a long and lustrous winter with these ice scrapers by my side, or at least, one in each of my cars.

Straight scraping edge is not flush/smooth/straight. Result? Not a single wide swab of defrosted area but 12-15 scratches and separate smudges left in frost.I liked thick handle (and expense was not so great as to warrant the hassle of return) so I used Stanley knife to deburr the scraper blade by gently pull-dragging knife blade on the top and bottom of leading scraper edges (until no bumps are felt).Buy yourself £2 Tesco scraper instead and enjoy better results - with narrower but also soft (foam insulated) handle.Just to be clear: I believe it could be a great scraper but non in my twin pack was.See my pictures: pre-formed finished edge on Tesco scraper (red handle) against no edge at this scraper (rough finish).Edited on 07-Dec-2019: desired tools contacted me now twice offering another set of scrapers for free. I did not take them on this (as felt this would oblige me to change this review, therefore distorting my real feedback/experience with the product).However I feel obliged to mention the company responsible reaction (and desire to rectify issues) in my feedback update. My rating has been updated from 1 to 2 stars as a result.Now you can make an informed choice (take a chance on the product with assurance they would help if you are unhappy with the outcome).

I bought one for our personal vehicle in the UK and one for travel as the car-hire agency always forget to give a scraper or the ones they give don't work. I traveled to Boston in the US during the big freeze of Jan 2019. Temperature dropped to minus -21C for a few days, warmed up to 0C and snowed and then dropped to -18C. The scraper I took with me was brilliant! It cut thru the hard ice and had it flying every which way. I was glad I watched the suggested video on how to deal with thick ice because it worked perfectly for this too. I should point out that my hire car had remote start and I could start it from inside my hotel room and warm it up before going out. However,, due to how cold it was, the car defrosters didn't completely clear the front and back windscreens and didn't even touch the thick ice on the side windows. I was so happy I had this scraper with me because it took care of all the ice on all the windows. As I wrote in the headline - well worth the cost and I won't travel in the winter without it!

I don’t know why, but I was expecting more from this. Maybe because of the price? I find the handle actually a bit too large to grip well - especially if you have gloves on. The foam handle makes it harder to exert pressure on the glass to scrape the ice off. And maybe because of the length, there isn’t enough downward pressure on the glass for good ice removal. So I find this totally unremarkable, and actually not as good as some cheap ones I’ve used in the past. Yes, it does seem to be very robust, but this isn’t really that important if it fails to do its primary function. So doesn’t meet my expectations.

…. has Ice been under such threat. Not that I have seen any so far but when it does come trembling into sight I shall vanquish it with one or other of my stereo Premium ice scrapers. No more mangled credit card edges, these babies are a properly engineered solution. But seriously, most ice scrapers are , lets face it, lightweight tat, these are not. Winter !!! I laugh at your pathetic threat !!!

They arrived the day before the first frost of the winter so came in very handy for the following morning when my car's windows were caked in a heavy frost. I must say I found it extremely easy to scrape them clear so have to say these scrapers appear to be good, although only time will tell as to how durable they turn out to be.

Arrived on time. Good size and appear sturdy. Haven’t had any icy mornings to try them out yet but they look as if they will do the business09/01/2020First frost of the year to try them out. Not impressed, as others have said for some reason the corners scrape the ice but the middle of the blade does nothing. Handles were comfortable but did not clear the ice. The following morning the windows had to be cleared again and this time the scrapers did a much better job. Might have been some moulding flaws which have worn off after the first use.

I have purchased several ice scrapers in my time, most of cheaper value but these are simply the best I've tried. They do the job well and are comfortable to use. They are a good size so not to bulky to store in the vehicle. Customer service was excellent, I received an email with tips on how to use the product and get the best out of it. Because there are two supplied you can have one in each car if you own 2 cars or, as with me, my 8 year old daughter helps to de-ice my car with one whilst I use the other so it's a win win.
