Ideal for open heeled fins. Easy to don, easy to doff. Absolutely ideal for me (naturally quite warm) in Malta and Goza in April (water temp about 18 degrees), but I've used them in stoney cove at around 14 degrees water too and was fine.

I initially ordered small because reviews suggested it. But I ended up getting just a half size smaller (I wear 8.5 so ended up with 8’s). They did stretch a bit once wet but were very comfortable. My friend has a different brand boot and her fins often slipped off. These Mares kept my fins on nice and snug. The extra heel and toe reinforcement works well!

I am in the water at least 4x a week. They are extremely comfortable. I am a size 7 to a 7.5 and fits with a little wiggle room, not much though. I wouldn't say they are big.

I am loving these so far. I got them for snorkeling, kayaking and other water activities and love that they keep my feet a bit warmer and significantly more protected. I wear a women's size 8 shoe and I ordered the size 6 and it fits me perfectly. These are great quality.
