Maxima 74920 Chain Wax - 13.5 oz. Aerosol

AMAZING. The 5.5 oz can might seem small but for how long you can go off a single lube it’s worth it, especially it’s price. Wherever or whenever you’re seeing this, but for me it was a little bit under 10 bucks. I felt a huge difference compared to my other lube (MUC-off). The chain wax lube was great for my 7Kw E-moto with a #35 chain setup! The muc-off always had me lubing after every ride, wearing down my sprockets, and now this lube makes it feel like I have a new chain, and it doesn’t lose its effectiveness quickly the more you ride. I ride on the street now and with all this salt and snow everywhere the chain doesn’t clog up with debris. This is just a day summary of using it so your experience may differ. The smell isn’t awful or strong. I do recommend wiping down after lubing because when it dries up it’s quite a hassle to clean, almost like dried up gum. it’s not entirely slippery it’s more on the waxy side and it doesn’t attract much debris at all! I have used a number of well-known, and lesser-known, chain lubes in my professional time as a motorcycle technician, and in my civilian time as a rider. In my opinion, of the brands I've tried, NOTHING works as well as Maxima Chain Wax. It goes on well, flings almost none, and lasts a long time. When doing proper chain service (clean, dry, lube, adjust) every 600 miles on my Suzuki DR650, I got 23,000 (mostly street) miles out of my factory chain, and I do attribute it to Maxima Chain Wax (and regular chain service, as stated). It is very likely that if you try Maxima Chain Wax, you won't go back to what you were using before. I highly recommend it to everyone I know that has a chain-driven motorcycle.

What a great product for bicycle chains. Goes on really wet and penetrates. Let dry to a brown waxy coating, which is almost invisible in appearance. Highly recommend wiping off the outside links and rollers before it sets up to ensure no dirt clings to your newly lubed chain. It really is DRY to the touch. Now the question remains to the friction reduction over time. Instructions on can claim it is similar to Cosmoline and has heavy-duty, anti-wear additives.... I usually degrease and relube my chains every 300 miles when they start to squeak. Also, check annually with a Park Tools chain gauge for wear. A large 13 oz can will last a few years and makes this a great value. Shimano chains, sprockets, and cassettes are expensive. Lube often and $ave yourself the aggravation.

This is a great chain wax. The can is ample in size, the wax is easy to apply, and the included tube makes a direct application with no can leakage after application.

So I’ve been using PJ1 Blue for at least 4 years and overall it’s a good product, no complaints. But after I watched a video that tested several chain lubricants and after seeing Maxima place well in every category (much better than PJ1), I decided to give it a try. I did the two step process 1) clean with Maxima Chain Cleaner 2) Apply Maxima Chain Wax. Both product worked outstanding! 1) Maxima Chain Cleaner - I was warned in the test video that Maxima cleaner can get past o-ring seals and dilute the factory permanent lub therefore I used it sparingly, spraying onto my chain cleaning brush versus spraying directly on the chain. Scrubbed with the brush then flushed with the garden hose afterwards. No mess and cleaned the chain great. 2) Maxima Chain Wax - After the chain dried, I applied the wax. This was a little drippy and messy but not as drippy as PJ1 (both are easy to use). I use a plastic bottle cut in half to catch the overspray and dripping product so very little drips on the ground. The Maxima clung-on and dried faster than PJ1 but not by much. I saturated the chain more than I normally do and was pleased to see it stay on the chain and not drip off. The Maxima seemed to penetrate the rollers better than PJ1 but that’s just a guess. So, if the Maxima last 500 miles (like PJ1) it will be a winner. Some reviewers claim it will go 800 miles, time will tell..

I’ve always used this Maxima chain Lube. Was running low so I ordered and got exactly what I paid for it. A good deal. Very good product.

Great product and makes cleaning the chain easy

A superb quality chain lube. I bought it on sale day. The chain lube gives chain a brown color which looks a bit different. It is actually a wax spray type lube. Cleaned my chain properly and then sprayed well on chain. I have to say it really did its job perfectly and more than expected. The chain produces no sound at all and is runs very smooth. The main plus point is that it is not wasted as u spray on chain and it grips firmly on the chain making a thick film. It is particularly for summer and winter seasons but is not that much effective for rainy season. But it is really a great product at reasonable price. If anyone looking for on road and off road biking, blindly go for this.
