No sweat
This is very sturdy, & I really like that it doesn’t lend to sweating in it. Stays cool & dry.

Liked Simplicity, Thumb Needs Tweaking
I've tried wrist and thumb splints before for carpal tunnel and trigger finger and nerve liked the tight, closed in feeling of a brace. So when my thumb triggered off again on me, I wanted a lightweight, "open" type of support. While it stabilized my thumb and I could adjust it some with the velcro strap, it wasn't quite tight enough to keep it from bending if I was not careful. I measured first as suggested and have a 6" wrist so I ordered small which fit perfectly. The stretchy hand liner was too tight on my thumb which was swollen so I folded it for extra padding at the wrist. Worked fine that way. The other reason I bought this was to wear on the other hand if I needed to as both of my thumbs trigger (lock up on bending) and that is great feature that you don't have to have a leftie and a righty brace! Hope you try it and like it too!

Makes dequervain’s tenosynovitis worse and poor construction
The idea of the splint is perfect. It just doesn't work. The velcro is not strong enough to keep the strap fixed. The length of the splint is too short. The wrist bone should align in the cut out of the splint so there is no pressure on the bone. But the cut out is further up the hand so the splint presses on the wrist bone. If you have dequervain’s tenosynovitis, the splint will worsen your condition and is quite painful. I am 5 ft 1 inch. If I ordered the larger size, the splint in general would not fit my hands.

This really helps but if a bit bulky
This does help, exactly what I need but it's a bit bulky..I don't mind it though. I've had some that were bulkier & helped less so I'd say it's best to use this one. Only thing I'd suggest be improved is the velcro on the tip of the thumb. It doesn't want to stay put. Other than that, I say this is the best of the choices I saw.. and tried!

Not for chronic use.
The velcro died in like 2 months.

Thumb Brace For DeQuervain
I have used other brands for my DeQuervain's symptom before I tried the VelPeau brand.Velpeau thumb brace came with a sleeve as a layer to cover your hand as sometimes, the brace can be hard and irritate the skin, however, I found the sleeve has some compression which helps to ease the pain.First the S size sleeve seems too tight for me so I requested the M size to try, but I think the S is better as it's tight so it keeps my thumb stabilized. With this brace, I can type and using the mouse to work on the computer, I wear it at night and when go to bed as I want to keep my wrist & thumb stablize.Overall, it's a good product to support your wrist & thumb.

Scratchy Around the Wrist...
I strained my left thumb months ago at work and have been wearing a brace for the last 8 weeks. While it's feeling MUCH better, and I'm wearing the brace less and less, I do still like to wear it when I sleep. This brace is so much lighter and more freeing than my original brace; however, the way the velcro is sewn on around the bottom scratches my wrist, and it gets really uncomfortable. I tried cutting it, and that helped a little, but I may have to sew a small piece of fabric around the bottom edge of this to be able to wear it comfortably all night.Overall, I really like this brace and would recommend it, but just be careful of the stitching. I don't know if it's the same for all of them, or I just got one with bum stitching, but I'm definitely going to have to make some modifications.
