Acer Tablet Iconia One 8 (8-inches) B1-850 MediaTek MT8163 A53 1GB 16GB EMMC Touchscreen Android 5.1 Lollipop White

This is my second Acer tablet. My first was the Iconia Tab A500, their first Android tablet, which I used daily for six years before it needed replacement. I am very pleased with this one. Very clear, crisp, and sensitive screen. Works great for games, Skype, and YouTube. The only minor fault is that the speakers are very poor, but since I use it with headphones most of the time, this isn't an issue that I find distressing.

Very good product, not overly expensive yet does most things I need from a tablet, lightweight and user friendly.

This item was returned as the speakers were faulty, working intermittently, and going off as the tablet was moved. The sound did work through the earphones. Looking online it was seen that a number of people have had similar problems with the sound. Other than that the tablet did have a reasonable kids section, for which this tablet was originally acquired, having the ability to segregate the main tablet applications from children.

To be honest, I expected more. I'd intentionally chosen a more expensive tablet than the base-line Chinese-brand ones hoping for an acceptable Android experience. All I can say is that I was disappointed.If all you want is a very basic tablet that is at least functional then this is OK. However, compared to my 4 year old HTC phone, the operation is worse. Slower and jerkier graphics when opening apps, moving between pages etc. The display is poor, sound is very poor. Too much bloat that you can't remove. Also, some fairly important apps such as Google Maps don't actually work.The unit is reasonable solidly built but is a bit awkward to hold. One major gripe is that the unit seems to turn on randomly when you pick it up. I'm not sure if it monitors the touch screen when off or if there was a fault but just moving it could turn it on. Battery life was also fairly poor, using it for 2 or 3 hours would flatten the battery unless it was fresh off the charger.

This was great but it has died after 9 months. There doesn't appear to be a way of returning it from the amazon website. It should be replaced under warranty. The WiFi no longer sees any 5G access points and fails to connect to any 2.4G ones. Plus it discharges quickly. It seems to be a hardware fault. I want to return it but can't see how to.Then, May 31, I returned the product in its case. Today, 24 June, I'm asked to return the product for the refund. I have done. I sent it back in its case. They have refunded me for the case but say I must return the tablet. Which they already have.How incompetent can they get?I wish I could give them zero stars. Suggest people avoid this one entirely.

Looks and feels great quality, especially when compared to other tablets on the market of a similar price range. It works well and is easy to use. Would recommend to others.

Changing over from IOS to Android so this seemed to tick all the boxes, so far so good.

I have bought 3 tablets in as many years and this one has been the best yet. It's easy to use and works fast considering it only has 1Gb of ram. Most of the apps that come with it are very good, some I have been able to stop, rather than been able to uninstall, but I have not found this a hindrance. Making it save to external sd is a doddle, unlike some reincarnation of Android I've had. And best of all the price. Not sure how Acer have crammed onto this package what they have for the price, but it has encouraged me to remember to look at Acer again (had an Acer lap top many years ago and was never particularly ena
