This was used to create a retrofit/DIY automated rollershade. The roller works well and is quiet. There is a short beep (not too loud) when the roller is activated. The roller has stop and start positions that can be programmed. These seems to come with a pre-set default roll distance of about 12", so you'll need to reset that - don't assume its defective if it only rolls a short distance. There are no brackets included, you will need to purchase those to mount this. The motor has a 7mm slot in it to mount on a bracket, but most brackets, including the ones from Rollerhouse on Amazon are 10mm (so -1/2 star :-). You can use a Dremel to cut down the bracket to fit into the rollerhead if all you can find are the 10mm brackets.The rollerhouse support team was very helpful determining the motor size for my application. They even helped me locate the correct brackets. When I create another set of automated shades, I'll use this again.

No readio control and not even 3-wire control this is unusable garbage.
