Times have changed
I read this book with my 11-year-old son for summer reading. Itโs a good book, and we enjoyed it. Although, What he got out of the book was completely different from what I got out of the book. It made for good conversation for each otherโs comprehension as we read.

Sind Down the Moon
Sing Down the Moon is a very interesting book. The author, Scott OหDell, writes in a wonderful language, you have the feeling you can see the amazing environment of the Navajo homeland. Further, you learn a lot about Native American traditions and history.

she is strong and smart. If your sensitive you may not want to ...
The book is about what happened to the Navahos and the long walk. The soldiers take over their home and move them somewhere else. The main character is Bright Morning, she is strong and smart. If your sensitive you may not want to read this, I loved the book!

Good reading for preteen
My son wanted to read this book and could not check it out at the school library. It suprised me he kept telllin me it was always checked out. So seeing an opportunity to have my son read rather then watch tv we went to b&n with no luck. I could have purchased it but because of their price I checked amazon mktplace and being much cheaper made the purchase. Four days later my son had his book and I pulled out my GREATEST DAD cup. My son loved the book, price was great, shipping was cheap and quick.

This is a troubling but elegantly told story
The first half of the book has little to do with the Long Walk but is interesting and creates the characters. The Long Walk section is very mild, considering what really happened and how many people died, but it is a good start to learn about this significant event in Native American and White American history and interaction.

Heart breaking, brilliant simplicity
Brilliantly told and compelling tale of the tragic experience of colonialism seen from the vantage of the vanquished.
