Quality lids that don't leak and are food safe. Great quality that held up to multiple hot dishwasher cycles
Because of the ongoing concerns with BPA and BPA free plastics that may leech into our foods and drinks... I switched our whole family to drinking out of glass mason jars which have been awesome and they're very resilient to heavy use and throwing in the dishwasher multiple times. These Tulid mason jar lids fit the wide mouth glasses I use for my protein shakes after workouts and they're awesome. Love their whole company story and how they got it launched on Kickstarter when the owner was trying to find safe ways to store baby foods they made themselves in glass mason jars but had the same troubles I had in finding reusable lids that wouldn't leak and did not have BPA or plastic touching the contents of the glass.I've bought 3 different 3-packs of these lids (9 total lids) and had 6 for about a year now with no issues with leaking or anything. And they've held up to the dishwasher top rack very well with repeated washings. The only issue I ever had was with just 1 of the inserts. The circle measurement is maybe a millimeter off so it kind of fits inside the lid a little wonky. However. If I just press it in a little harder, it fits fine and doesn't leak or anything like the other 8 which are fine.I did notice the 6 lids I've had for a year are definitely more faded orange than the 3 new ones I just got about 2 months ago. But I think that's my own fault from many dishwasher cycles and just regular wear and tear. The function of them have remained very strong and they don't leak at all in my gym bag or car.Love these lids. I thought they were a bit pricey at first. But they've held up for our family and they work well so that's why they're worth the cost for us. The quality is really good. I never thought I'd be so stoked about lids but these solved a real issue for us and we use these every day!

I wish I had ordered these sooner
I like to bring milk to work for breakfast everyday. Over the past several years, we have been slowly eliminating plastics in our house so it only made sense to use Mason jars to transport the milk. The metal lids and bands were pretty leak-proof, but they got dinged up and corroded a bit over time plus they were inconvenient when you were in a hurry. I found some plastic reusable lids, but they leaked and we were back with the plastic issue. I found small silicone seals that worked with the plastic lids, but about 1 in 4 times I used it, the silicone wouldn't sit right and my bag would get soaked. I was getting very frustrated. I needed something reliable, convenient, long-lasting, and easy to clean.I had seen the Tulid lids when the Kickstarter campaign took off, but I thought the cost was a little excessive. Once I saw the price do down a bit, I bit the bullet and got them. I really wish I had gotten them right off the bat. Each lid has two pieces. The lid itself is made of heavy plastic, but there is a thick (really thick) silicone seal which sits firmly in the lid. The contents of the jar never touch the plastic, just the seal. There is also a handy little silicone pip in the middle of the seal which can be used to help pull the seal out from the lid for cleaning. The outside grip is sturdy and grippy and doesn't cut into your hand. I never have trouble opening the jar, no matter how tightly my husband screwed it on. Most importantly I have owned these lids for almost 2 months and use them at least 5 times per week, and I have never had a single leak. Both hand wash really easily and I can throw the seal in my toddler's "parts basket" in the dishwasher and set the lid in the top rack. No problems.I am so glad I finally broke down and bought these. The piece of mind alone was well worth the price.

Great lids, food touches only silicone - beware cracks in plastic rim!
I bought these on July 28, 2015 and love them. I bring my lunch to work in mason jars and also use them to store leftovers in the fridge, so having a leakproof lid is a big help. I have never had a spill with these... until this summer. The interior liner that touches the food is silicone, but the material that screws around the mason jar is plastic, which cracked in two of the six lids that I bought. I only wash them in the top rack, have not dropped them, and do not over tighten my jars, so maybe this is regular wear and tear - I have had them for a year now. That said, I have baby bottles from 2011 that have been through the dishwasher, tossed around, and dropped whose lids are still completely intact.

Wish I’d ordered sooner!!!
I have to say I absolutely love these caps. I do a great deal of fermented foods (yogurt, sauerkraut, Kombucha, kefir (water and milk), and sourdough). All of the fermented foods have eaten through the metal rings, that go with my mason jars. I bought the regular plastic rings, as a way to keep metal from leaching into the fermented foods, but they never quite sealed well... and well, plastic, which I’m trying to eliminate from our house. I also have the blossom uCap lids (which are great too and work well for fermented foods), but I wanted a spin on top. Tulid to the rescue, literally. The seal is excellent and there’s no metal or plastic coming in contact with the food. The silicone seal inside helps keep the contents in the jar and the lid is solid and doesn’t feel like it’ll break if I spin too hard.I’ve slowly been buying a set every couple months, to slowly replace all my lids for my fermented foods (I usually have about 10-15 going at a time) and I’ve also started using them for my breakfast jars. They can sometimes be difficult to turn (I saw a negative review that said that they hurt their wrist tightening, which I’ve experienced, too. You have to make sure that the insert is all the way into the lid inside, any unevenness and it WILL be hard to close). For some of my foods I now find that, after removing the lid the insert is well sealed against the lip of the jar. I have yet to have any issues with leaking. These lids are also extremely easy to clean and fit well in the top rack of my dishwasher. When not in use I keep the silicone insert separated from the lid, this assures that the silicone has a chance to dry fully (should any moisture remain on it).
