Mine works and I enjoy it.
I've had this clock about 2 weeks and it's working fine. It helps me with getting distracted and losing track of time, and I'm learning some bird songs I didn't know. The small size of the version I ordered isn't a problem for me. For telling time--there aren't any numbers on the clock face anyway, so you'd go by the relative position of the hands, and that can be seen from across a large room. It's not a big display clock, though; it's a little bit over the height of a cheap paperback book. Mine has the green rim, which you could call "forest green," and it's a cute little accent. It plays even on a cloudy day where I have it, about 5 feet from a south-facing window. It doesn't activate at night when there's just light from the next room over, but it will if you put it next to a lamp that's turned on. I can hear it from 2 or 3 rooms away; I think they chose a good volume. The sound quality is good enough although one of the songs sounds kind of "cheep." :)

Time flies!
Chirp! The clock is very attractive and the birdy sounds delightful. As Pandemic born bird watchers this is a wonderful reminder to breathe and appreciate nature. We’ve had ours for over a year and love it. Have given it as a gift and it is always well received. It doesn’t activate overnight so it won’t keep you awake. Time flies! Buy it!!!

Nice product but there was a problem that I had to fix.
This IS the bird clock to get. We tried a less expensive product and had to return it. That product produced mechanical sounding, shrill, and annoying bird calls. The calls in the product being reviewed at true to life and pleasing. This is the third version of this clock that we have owned, so I must caution that reliability is not the best. They do last for years, but maybe not 10 years, but as always, your mileage may vary. I did have one problem with this product when it arrived. The hour and minute hand were not properly aligned, and caught on each other. Thus, the clock stopped when the hands crossed in front of one other and hung up. As I had taken a previous clock like this apart, and did a repair on my own rather than returning the item. There are six screws on the back along the rim. If you remove those Philips head screws, the trim and glass come off the front. Then you can access the hands. I simply made little bends in the hands so that they could all clear one another. It's an easy 5 minute job. The hands on this latest clock are VERY thin, and feel like paper. The previous clock had thin metal hands that were certainly more substantial. I think that the old product would be more likely to hold good position of the hands rather than the paper-like hands on the new model. Anyway, it's a nice product. Beware that there ARE two sizes, two diameters. Get the one that works best for you. --- As a follow up, I had to return this clock. Normally the bird calls sound in sequence, one per hour for each different bird. This clock seemed to skip ahead, sounding two calls on one hour occasionally, thus throwing off the entire sequence. Calls did not match the bird. Maybe this is okay for some, but not us. We had to return it. We did receive a replacement clock. One thing to notice. We have had these clocks for years, and they have always had a black back, like the one in the picture (that is the replacement clock). The one with the white back was the defective one that was returned. Apparently there has been a redesign, and the white one is the new version. Thankfully, the black one, the replacement, seems to work well. The fronts are identical, except for the location of the light sensor at the top, used to silence the clock at night. It's still a very nice product, but again, quality may be an issue, particularly on the new design.

A childhood memory!
My great grandparents had one of these clocks in their farmhouse kitchen, and it is one of those small details that stuck with me among a thousand memories from that place. Recently it hit me out of nowhere. I remembered that old clock chiming bird sounds. It was simple, but it added something really special to the atmosphere. This clock brought all of that flooding back instantly. The sound quality is great, the design is classic, and it feels just like the one I remember. It is also a Certified Audubon product, which is a nice touch if you are into birds. If you are looking for something unique, nostalgic, or just a little more alive than a standard wall clock, this is absolutely worth it.

This clock has one terribly unfortunate flaw!
My wife has had several MFA clocks and has gifted several also. Some have lasted for 10-15 years or longer. We had high hopes for this clock but have discovered one fatal flaw, namely, that at some point, the clock stops making the sound of the bird when it reaches the top of the hour. If you press the button, you hear a bird sound, but at the top of the hour, you hear nothing at all. We have had two of these 25th anniversary clocks, and both have demonstrated the same issue. It was difficult to reach a human being, but when we finally did, she instructed us to remove the batteries, set the clock to 11:50, insert the batteries, and wait. Unfortunately, nothing happened. The other problem is that the warranty ends so soon that you have no recourse. It pains me to have to write this because we love these clocks, but the new ones with the cherry finishes have had these issues. It's not the finish, obviously; it's the mechanism that has gone bad in multiple clocks.

J'aurais préféré l'horloge un peu plus grande. Cependant, celle reçue fonctionne très bien. Très satisfait.

Bird songs
Good bird songs for each hour. Pity that the songs are a bit short.

Not a good as the original.
This anniversary edition is very similar in construction to the original version I bought in the Twin Towers in !999 which has finally expired. But I was a bit disappointed it the vocal performance as all of the birds are a bit similar and generally too quiet in a well-lit kitchen, you would need to place it fairly close to a window to get maximum output. Particularly disappointing was the Mocking Bird call - far quieter and lacking the wonderful range of sounds on the original version - why change that? As I say, disappointing at about three times the price including postage from USA... Update 2025: bird song has stopped - possibly due to light sensor fault, still works on test button. Disappointingly short working life.

Soothing and Enjoyable
I bought this clock for my 86 year old mom. In the heart of the city, she doesn't get to hear a lot of nature sounds 1) because of where she lives and 2) she is hard of hearing. This clock brings a smile to her face each time it sings out and these bird sounds are true to nature. This is her second clock in 4 years. We were unsuccessful getting the first one to chirp after changing the batteries. But despite that, I highly recommend.
