I'm an amateur when it comes to video production, but I really tried skating by with cheap LED panels for my key light and it was not cutting it. I was worried the 200xS might be overkill, but I'm really glad I chose it over the 100x. Once you throw on a softbox and grid, the light was beautifully diffused while maintaining the brightness I needed. And it was only at 50% brightness in the photo! It's also incredibly quiet and easy to use. The build quality is solid at this price point and it really is a great first key light to have. The only drawback I'd call out is that it takes up a lot of space, especially with the softbox, so it's not going to be as versatile in smaller rooms. Color seems to be very accurate, I'm really liking it at the 5000-5300K range, but I'm glad I have the flexibility to go warmer or cooler as needed. After nearly a year of owning it, I'd recommend!

There is a lot to like about Amaran. First is having the lighting quality, but unfortunately not the build quality, of Aputure. Having stated the negative I'll qualify by saying, it's plastic; however, I have two and I haven't broken one yet. The Bi-Color feature is an awesome convenience cin contrast to using to using gels. The umbrella clamp is handy as well and I use it on many shoots. A couple of these 200W remote control dimmable lights with inexpesive shoot through diffusion and you've got the begining of an incomparable lighting setup. Oh yeah, the fans are very quiet. I don't see how they could interfere with the sound of an intimate interview; a room with running air conditioning system is FAR worse.

Great light for Youtube content creation. It's my only high-powered light and it's very flexible.

I use the 200x almost daily for product photography. I have used the 200x for over 1.5 years and it kicks on every time with no issues. The Amaran models are perfect for me. The price is more in my budget and I don't mind the plastic body since I'm rarely rough with my lights. The mobile app is great since I now have 5 aputure lights. Being able to adjust the temperature and brightness without touching the light is a huge time saver. If the tightening handle and mount was metal this would be a perfect build.
