Budget friendly, efficient cpu.
So, I wanted to build a machine for my tv. It was my "console pc" build. I went with this chip because I heard great things about it and sure enough, it did not disappoint.Performance - Its very good. Even though it only has 6 cores, this cpu can handle most things I throw at it. My system is very snappy and responsive and ever since I used it, I have not had any problems with it.Thermals - with an aftermarket cpu cooler, I have my machine running very cool. CPU temps when idle are around 27c-31c depending on ambient temp. Under full load, It goes about to around 55c. This cpu has not overheated on me ONCE.General use - so I use this chip mainly for gaming and streaming. For both of those things, it does the trick. I play games at 60 fps as per the limitations of my TV and this chip is PERFECT for this use as it doesn't use a lot of power and its very efficient. Same when I'm streaming, its very efficient and quiet.Overall, this is a great budget chip. You can even do some light video and photo editing with this cpu. Overall, great value.

Excellent value for money for video editing.
For several years now I've been using an Acer tower TC-885 based on their motherboard and a 8th Generation Intel Core i5-8400 for video work but it was time for an upgrade as it was so sluggish plus the motherboard was extremely limited. I bought the Gigabyte B760 mother board along with a 12th gen Intel Core i5-12400F processor and 4 x 8gb of DDR4 ram. Total cost was under $300 from Amazon. I already had a copy of Win 10 which was upgraded to Win 11 plus hard drives and SSD's along with all the apps on an old AMD based desktop. It took around 2 days to get the old case repurposed with new hardware but the performance is astounding for video editing which by my estimates does the job in a quarter of the time. This intel CPU is very good value for money at $110 for the performance hike and the Gigabyte MOBO has far more ports than the old ACER and has 4 x Sata, 4 rear and 2 front panel mixed USB ports, a x16 PCIE slot for a graphics card and 2 x x1 PCIe slots I'm using for 4 more USB3 ports plus 4 x extra SATA ports. Best of all is the PCIe socket for the 256 gb NVME memory stick where I put the OS. Best part, it boots in under 20 seconds.

Made a 14yo very happy
Of course he was dreaming of an Nvidia or the Intel series 10,000, but this was a good choice. He saved up money for a couple years, we all pooled together and he researched for months before settling on this. It has been working well considering he likes to build in Unreal Engine, fusion 360, and blender. Is it the power he needs? No. Is it the power he has? Yes. He is already saving for a new core and motherboard, but he doesn’t complain. 6 months later and he is still happy with his purchase and wouldn’t change anything. It doesn’t take much to cool it, he is just running fans, not liquid cooling. He doesn’t have any issues with gaming capability, no lag or any issues, but he doesn’t run huge screens or anything. He is running a 750 and has plenty of power. Overall, he doesn’t have any complaints on stability. The only problems are crashing unreal engine when his builds to large of a world.

Great Price, Great Performance
Great performance for the price and very efficient. I threw it in my girlfriend’s “budget” build and I have no regrets.

first time using intel, very happy with results
After building 4 different computers using AMD CPUs, I wanted to give Intel a try. So far, I have been extremely happy with my choice of CPU. I paired this with a 4060 low profile for a mini ITX build and it has handled everything I tried with ease. All my 3DMark tests have been good at 1080p. During these tests, the CPU temperatures were much lower than expected at around 65 degrees under maximum load. I would like to note that this comes with a cooler that I opted not to use due to space constraints. I think this CPU's performance exceeds its price, and I would recommend. There are obviously better performing options, but this will handle everything a typical computer user would do.

BEST BANG FOR BUCK CPU
If you know you're definitely going to get yourself a discrete GPU for your PC build, the i5-12400F is an amazing CPU for the pricing and won't bottleneck your gaming up to an RTX 4080. No overclocking since the cores are locked though.
