Thick rifle protection for under $5.
This is a great product at a great price. Thick protection for under $5. I got the 6-pack of 52 inch gray socks for $27.00 delivered or $4.50 per. The gray ones I got are a cotton/polyester blend, thick and reasonably stretchy. Other colors may be entirely different. Let me first address a couple of criticisms I read in the reviews. The company states that not all colors are made in the USA and identifies which is which; the gray I bought (and several other colors) are USA. Its not hidden in small print. You just have to actually read the product descriptions. Next, these are designed for storage, in a safe or hard case. Yes, if its on a home defense weapon kept under the bed, these will slow you down, a lot; especially if you have big sights or optics to snag. But it will fit scoped rifles. You just have to start at the muzzle, let the sock down and bunch up at the scope and then work it over. Its like putting any other sock on: don't grab the open end and try to pull it all the way on. These fit a Ruger American bolt action rifle with full scope, a .22 pump with full scope; a lever gun with open red dot sight, a double barrel coach gun with exposed "rabbit ear" hammers and two other full size but non-scoped rifles. The company warns that the sock won't fit AR type platforms. I tried an AR-15 with tactical scope and it was no go but they stated that fact and they make a sock for AR style guns. The sock itself is thick and provides a good cushion and smells like it is impregnated with Silicon (as advertised) or something. I always wipe my guns down with a lightly oiled rag anyway but the extra protection can't hurt. I like that I can move my guns around now without leaving fingerprints or cringing when I let one fall over and it bangs into one of its safe mates. For less than $5 I don't think you can go wrong; just be realistic about what it is advertised to do and use a little common sense and you should be well pleased.

These provide perfect protection against bumps for guns in the safe
Taking long-guns in/out of the safe always has the risk of scratching or dinging against other guns or the safe body. These gun socks are just thick enough to provide reasonable protection, without being so thick they reduce your storage capacity. They are treated with rust preventative to ensure your barrels and other metal stay safe. A VERY good investment to protect expensive firearms and scopes. They have a small tag at the closed end to write a short description of the firearm, so you don't have to guess which one is the .308 Win vs. the 7mm Rem Mag.

Durable and well made.
I recently moved, and needed to be able to provide protection from damage for over sixty valuable historic rifles and shotguns while packed into groups in tall moving boxes. I didn't have the space or a desire to spend the money on individual cases for these guns, which were packed onto a moving truck for an 1100 mile journey to our new home. I decided to try these, and what a great investment! They are made of a heavy fabric, and with a little care will slide onto nearly any rifle or shotgun. I did first remove the bolts from my bolt action guns since I didn't want to take a chance that the bolt handles would chafe through the cloth and rub against the neighboring guns, but for the rest, I pulled the socks over the rifle, and usually had a few inches extra at the muzzle to tighten the drawstrings and then double over and tie them there. I put the guns in the boxes, made sure there wasn't a lot of extra empty space, and then secured the boxes upright against the sides of the moving truck. When we got to our destination, I unpacked the guns, and there was no damage from them rubbing against each other during the trip. These are great for most normal length rifles, shotguns or carbines, but for some of my extra long 18th and 19th century muskets, I used the longer size also offered by Allen Company. I'd highly recommend them for use in transporting, and storing your long guns, and though I haven't had them for more than a few weeks, I'd imagine they'll last a long time with some general care in installation and removal.

Nice quality, decent length
Nice quality, decent length, and the price is great for a pack of six. My only complaint is that they are fairly narrow when unstretched, requiring a bit of work to get one to fit over a scoped rifle. That said, these are definitely not a good choice for a modern sporting (tactical) rifle. Allen sells a different product for those rifles...and it is fantastic. Search for "Allen Company Tactical Gun Sock" if you are looking to protect that type of rifle.

The sock is stretchier and the string is long enough to fit soped rifles as well as shotguns!
I have purchased a bunch of the cheap ones here on Amazon. I bought a new 20 gauge Citori and I wanted a Browning sock. I think it is over priced just because of the Browning logo, but it really is better quality and stretchier than the others I have purchased. The material is a bit thinner than most, but that is probably how it sttretches more. I think they are over priced, but I plan to purchase 2 more soon for my other Browning Citori shotguns.

Thickness is perfect for protecting expensive firearms from nicks and dings when moving guns in and out of the safe. Very well made and it should last a long time. Would definitely buy again!

Ottimo materiale
Su calciatura classica, Un po' stretto per includere anche il cannocchiale, ma grazie alla sua elasticità, pian piano ce la fa.Non adatto ad AR15 e simili.

Keeps bow limbs safe!
Might not be the best purchaser to review this, as I use it as a cover for bow limbs, but for that purpose at least it works great! Just stuff em in, fold it over and strap the limbs to the side of my pack. Keeps them from getting scratched and such. Sturdy and soft material.
