Schylling Locking Cash Box Red, 1 EA

I had one as a child and loved it! this is very similar (seems identical). this one has a plastic insert in it (i'm not sure if mine had one or not). I got my daughter this one and my son the cash box from Toysmith. they are very similar, his key was a bit better, and It worked for both. So they use both of his and her two keys are kept in case one is lost. I dont know if they ever use the keys much because they can easily get into it with the com. They are very similar products though. I like knowing what color you are getting with this product, that is why I bought one of both brands.I wanted two different colors so I started with the toysmith (you dont get to specify a color) and luckily I got a blue one, so I bought this one knowing it would be red and they would be different. So worked out perfectly. If i had gotten a red toysmith I would have ordered a second from that company and hoped it would be a different color. Really fun for money and special treasures. Great product!

I had one of these locking cash boxes when I was a kid, thirty+ years ago. I'm happy to report this is almost the identical box! I wasn't sure my own children would appreciate them, but they turned out to be a huge hit for all three girls aged 8, 10 and 13. The girls frequently have lots of birthday and grandparent money laying around which is why I thought of this box. Great idea for getting them to put their money and valuables some place safe.The combination dial is just a single number which is great. A three digit combination probably would have been too challenging for my 8 year old. The box also comes with a simple key.Really pleased with this purchase. Good price and a nice value.

I didn't order this expecting a giant size cash box. I ordered this for my 7 year old son who likes more vintage style then modern. The keys work but you have to turn it the correct way and slide the lever over or they won't work. Which is how most work. The combination (located on the bottom) is single digit and the box opens right up when the dial is on that number(once again, slide the lever). My kids really likes it. I like that it won't take up a lot of space and seems well made to last. Overall a good choice and I would gift it to a friend's kid easily.

Very cute, very small! I ordered this cash box for my yoga studio. I am renting a small space and didn't want a large cash box to lug around with me all the time. This was smaller than expected- but will do the job. The keys don't open the cash box- they will lock it so I can't use the combination though. The combination works- it's one number and it's written on a sticker on the bottom of the box. There is a small defect in the paint right above the word "cash".... it bothered me a little bit, but I figured I get what I pay for - $13.

My 8 year old grandson wanted this to replace one he had received 2 years before.He loves it. He is able to open it easily, unlike some other lock boxes on the market. I had bought a different brand at first and he was unable to open the other one because the coded lock was super sensitive and had to be EXACT. I like that this one has a code and keys. He likes to put his phone in it along with toys he doesn't want his younger brother to play with.

Great gift for my sons who are out of the kiddish piggy bank phase and serious about saving their money. Price was right and the stickers for their names was perfect. Only down side was not having more color options. I really like that it has both the lock& key feature as well as a combination lock.

When I received this safe, first I was surprised how small it really was- even though I knew by the description it was going to be small. I opened the box and took out the shiny red steel safe and looked for the key to open it or the 'combination'. The keys were inside the locked safe and there were no written instructions on how to open it or a 'combination' anywhere. Since I was rushed to wrap it, I e-mailed customer service for the company to find out how to open it so that I would know when my son unwrapped this gift. Customer service e-mailed back promptly and told me to set the combination to 20 and turn the key-which was still locked INSIDE the safe. The metal slide knob to open it did not work and so I ended up forcing it open to get the keys out. When I did, it still did not work with the keys, combination or anything other than force. It is cheap and I am probably not going to give it to my son because it is frustrating to try to pry open and not worth the effort.

We purchased these for our grandchildren for Christmas and also gave them a roll of dollar coins to start them off. The cash boxes are well constructed and the key plus combination locks make them fun for the kids. I wish I could have chosen which colors I wanted when I ordered 3 of them. I wanted the three children to each have a different color, but they all came in red. I'm still giving them 5 stars and will just personalize them myself.

This cash box is not made for industrial or adult use but it is perfectly fine as a child's bank which is what it was produced for. The issue is you have to know how to use it. The combination lock must be set to the correct number before the box can be opened or closed. The keys are fun to use for kids (there again they need some practice on how to handle the key with an adult). This cash box is the first thing I have received from Amazon that had obviously been returned by someone else. The bag holding the keys had been cut open and the cardboard was a bit torn. I have tried it several times--it works perfectly well for what it is and I know my grand daughter will like it. Her two older siblings have an earlier version of the box ordered from another company, and they have worked well. Pleased to find this as I ordered the first two 8 years ago and was surprised they were still being made, but out of stock in many toy stores.

Love how this looks, exactly as expected. Nice quality however it is next to impossible to lock with the key, and if you can manage to lock it, then good luck trying to unlock it again with the key. It's too bad.
