sequin art 1337 Paddington Bear Craft

A great novelty craft idea. Must have lots of patience to complete, but it's something that can be picked up and put down as and when desired. Finished result looks great and weighted well, so stands as an ornament once completed.Do agree with the other reviews that mention that head could have been a bit thicker, but as long as you poke the pins through at an angle and remember to watch your fingers as they come out the other side, you'll be fine.

This kit is probably intended for children (the box says 8+), but, as an adult, I had a lot of fun making it.You get: a polystyrene bear 🐻, 5 packs of different coloured sequins, and a LOT of pins. The bear model has some raised areas to indicate where certain details should go (e.g. the buttons on his duffle coat), but aside from this he is a blank canvas and it's up to you to decide where to put the sequins. The instructions are fairly minimal, but do include some colour illustrations (for those who need a reminder as to what Paddington Bear looks like) a small diagram to indicate how to (and how not to!) make rows of well-spaced sequins, and a diagram showing which way 'up' the sequins should go.In any case, once you get going, it's pretty easy. As others have commented, there are a few tricky areas (e.g. the hat brim) where you need to angle the pins carefully to make sure that you don't get a sharp point poking through. I'd suggest starting with some of the chunkier areas, and leaving the hat until you've got the hang of it. The pins are easy to pull out if you make a mistake, so if one pops out the other side just have another go. (It's worth checking the bear over from time to time, as sometimes the very tip of a pin may have poked through without you noticing...)The kit has far more sequins (and pins!) than you will need. I used some of the extra black sequins to give Paddington some claws. You could probably add other little flourishes.I really enjoyed making this little bear, and would recommend this kit to others.

This was a gift for my daughter’s birthday. We really enjoyed putting this together and there were ample sequins for all the colours. It was time consuming but little one was very pleased with the final outcome. On completion it seemed Paddington would not stand, hence the four stars, as the sole of the feet are not flat but after adding a few sequins to the heels, this offered some balance, he now stands pride of place on my daughter’s bedside cabinet 😍

Lovely product that my daughter has had loads of fun completing. It's messy as only sequin art can be with the odd pin stuck where it shouldn't b but it looks great.
