Q: How is the paper bag waterproofed? Is this done through the use of plastic lining or similars?

We have been purchasing these bags for a number of years and have never had any problems, they are made of a quality manila material and do not have any plastic materials with in the linings, they work very well if used for the job they have been produced for, which is waste food for recycling, and although when they are removed from the waste caddy bin they appear to be wet on the outside of the bag,but we have never had any problems with them either leaking or bursting. This is my opinion and not part of a report from the manufacturers This statement is without prejudice.

Most councils will accept them complete with food! They are fully compostable bags so it shouldn't be a problem.

Q: Do these bags open in a rectangular way as in the photo and have a flat bottom which can sit flat on the base of the caddy?

The bag is supplied flat, but we very easily pushed the base out to form the flat bottom, as they would be used in a caddy. Paper bags never form a 100% perfect fit in caddies, but are very easily pushed into shape!

I am very sorry you have received your parcel in excessive/plastic packaging. We send items into Amazon for them to fulfil orders for us and they unfortunately have strict guidelines as to how we send in the parcels (we have to do this otherwise we are fined). We have been working very hard in the past couple of years to source compostable alternatives and I am pleased to say we are transitioning all outer packaging that meet Amazon guidelines to a compostable outer wrap so you will won’t see them in those plastic bags for much longer. I hope this has cleared anything up and we apologise again. It has always upset us having to send them out in those bags. Let me know if you have anymore questions. Kind regards, All-Green
