HooToo USB C Hub, 6-in-1 USB C Adapter (2019 Upgrade) with Power Delivery, 4K HDMI, 3 USB 3.0 for MacBook/Pro/Air and Type C Windows Laptops

I like the look of the hub; it's sleek on the desktop, and non-invasive. I also bought this hub because it was one of the few that didn't seem to have overheating issues; and it doesn't.However, the tradeoffs aren't worth it in my opinion:— The usb connection isn't very secure; it's a loose fit. This in itself leads to an inconsistent connection sometimes.— The transfer speeds for devices attached to it are slow; I have an external solid state drive which I use to back my laptop up, and it's embarrassingly slow. In fact, I forked over the unreasonable amount Apple charges for a simple USB-C to USB adapter simply to get around this issue.—It's not built to last. The performance has gotten worse over time, to the point where (18 months down the line), I can't even reliably use a USB mouse with it, without it skipping or cutting out. Inserted SD cards and USB drives constant disconnect mid-transfer.—It's pretty, expensive for these to be such huge problems.

I went for this device as between my wife and I we have 5 different devices all that have USB-C. two different Samsung phones (DEX), two different HP Laptops and a Microsoft Surface Go.The device worked straight out of the box with all but the older HP laptop (updated the graphics drivers and that too was working).with a USB power supply it is able all the devices that we connected it to even my HP Zbook while allowing the docking station to work as a dock (no need to plug in other mains chargers), the laptops charged slowly, but charged!It was great one simple device that allows us to use the one home office station to plug in any of our devices and have full screen display, mouse and keyboard as well as a spare usb slot or two!once I got over the display issue on my Zbook it does exactly what we wanted it to! I am going to get some more of these to have as a travel companion for my tablet PC.

even though attached with the usb -c it still feels strong in its holding on to the connector and you can move it around without it coming off that easy...i just feel with the lighting up of the letter on the adaptor and how it takes away the clumsiness of the actual apple version ... you can attach a few things at once and it feels very usable i gig with this ... hdmi for screen usb out for audio convertor all works cool..

Really useful to carry with me as I bring my macbook pro with me sometimes. When there is a need of a wide array of connections with different natures such as HDMI, usb type 3, et cetera, i always find this a useful product to be around with all the time. I do osme presentation and sometimes the screen where I work in breaks, and I have to plug in some of the connections as well as flashdrive and connect this to the screen. So that resolves the problem which I sometimes encounter.

I tried to use it with Samsung Galaxy Book 10.6 Windows 10 but all it does is DISCHARGING rather than charging! It discovers any memory card or usb without problems but it does not deliver enough juice to charge the battery. I used it with original Samsung charger and cable but it seems the HooToo can't cope with it. Will ask for refund.

Useful USB C to USB 3 hub and card reader with HDMI 2 4K capable socket, which allows me to connect to a 4K tv or second monitor from my laptop. The short cable connection means the hub does not block other ports and makes the socket flexible, which avoids some cable drag from the HDMI cable on the onboard socket itself. The large HooToo logo lights up in white, so you can easily see the hub is connected even a darkened room.

I don't like the illuminated logo and would have preferred top and bottom surface to both have a serviceable finish as I often use this 'upside down' to have better access to the ports in some circumstances.

I returned this as I couldn't get it to power up. I use a Dell laptop at work with a USB-C in (that provides power, network, video etc), but that same connection didn't power the Hub, and didn't make the necessary network/video either.Either it was a dud, or requires even more power than my Dell docking station.
