Product Description Portable consoles dont seem an obvious home for beat em-ups, but they have been made to work before and never more successfully than with this game. Created by cult Japanese developer Treasure, the game is based on the popular anime Bleach--but whether youre familiar with the characters and storyline doesnt really matter. All you have to do is be able to appreciate a good fighter, and this is certainly that with four players on screen at once, a mountain of special moves, and even an online two-player mode. Great beat em up for the ds
This game follows the plot of episodes 1-63ish of the bleach anime, so if you don't want spoilers, don't buy it.The game has very simple controls and is really easy to get used to, the impressive moves are all easy to do, thanks to the touch screen. Characters have special/super (shikai and bankai for the soul reapers) moves which they can perform by building up spiritual energy and spiritual pressure, by both attacking and defending.Auto gaurd is one thing i love about this game, as I am very lazy and never think about defending, it makes it really easy for me to get past the stages with quick attacking charaters. The graphics are really good for a 2d beat'em up on the ds and the anime story filler bits are nice to look at.All the origoinal voice cast do the voices for this game and you can unlock the voices by buying them in the urahara shop. While some of the more powerful characters are a lot of fun to fight as (soi fon, ichigo, renji-possibly my favourite, gin, byakuya, yamamoto-all very easy to master) the main non soul reaper characters I dont find as much fun to play as (uryu, orihime, chad)one particularly frustrating thing about uryu is that he's really hard to get the hang of but really hard to beat when you face him! some of the less popular soul reapers are also very hard to get the hang of.The spirit card aspect of the game is something very new to me, and I have to say I quite like it. It's just the best thing in the world when you are playing as soi fon and you get you meter up to 3, hit you opponent with that butterfly move which escapes my attention, and then you get the max spiritual pressure card and hit them again, killing them instantly! But i can see how this could be annoying if you are the opponent...on the whole, as a bleach nut I love this game alread, I've only had it 5 days. It's not a really hard core beat'em up, but a bit of fun for bleach fans. I haven't tried it on line yet but I think I will soon!If you like bleach you should buy this game

Best fighting system on the DS
Im not usually a big fan of fighters. But this game is just awesome. With 28 characters, there are plenty of challenges and battles to keep you entertained. The wonderful fighting system uses many good mechanics, like the fact that you can choose between light atacks, heavy attacks, and medium attacks. You can also use super and special moves (Super Moves require spiritual pressure, Special moves need Spiritual power), like bankai, by using combinations of buttons, or the hot keys on the touch screen. You can also use cards, which either raise your attributes, lower your opponents, or have an effect on all players. You can purchase these, among other extras in the Uruhara Shop. The only problem with this game it that, for such an excellent game, the story mode is far too short. However, if you want to play WiFI on bleach: Blade of Fate, then maybe you should go with something else, as it's WiFi is laggy.Overall, if you are a fan of fighters, or just love Bleach , then this is the game for you.

Best fighter on the DS... For a while
Bleach: The blade of fate for the DS is a very enjoyable Fighting game for a Bleach fan such as myself.I don't usually play fighting games but this one is very easy to play with 3 difficulties to choose from, 27 characters to choose ( majority of them have to be unlocked ).Story mode is pretty decent, nearly every character has a story, 23 stories to choose from and new characters are unlocked by completing them.Other modes include, Arcade Mode, Time attack mode, Survival Mode, Training Mode and Online Wi-fi Battling. The Wi-fi battling is terrible due to very bad lag, this is not because of connections ( i was playing with a full green bar, as was my opponent) but the online mode lags because of the Cards you use which cause the battle to lag.. So i just avoid online mode and stick to the offline mode.Fighting is very easy to get used to, You don't have to learn every combo in the game as you can choose the special move you want to use by pressing one of the buttons on the touch screen. This is a very good feature to the game if you keep forgetting the button combinations. You earn money from most fights in the game and money can be spent in the Urahara shop on many items such as, New voices, New spirit cards, New costume colours for characters, Art pictures and music. This game is an excellent game for Bleach fans and fighting fans and i think it is a very enjoyable game, But don't expect an amazing online experience but stick to the offline.. its much better.

I LOVE TOSHIRO
Oh my gosh. Everything I expected and more. I'd searched for this game for a while and when I finally got my hands on a copy, I was not dissapointed! I would point any Bleach fans in it's direction as there are episode like parts to the game and then the game it's self. You can play as most charcters from the soul society saga in the anime and their abilities on the game match those from the series including the use of bankai. I love it although it didn't take too long to complete. It did, however, take a while to understand how to set up the vesus mode but when I'd done it once, it was easy. I gave it 4 stars because it could have been better and was over too quickly but it's still a very good game that I still play despite completing it.
