Works really well
I bought these for my 14 year old ADHD grandson who is living with us for awhile. He loves them. The are nice and hard and don't break off easily. He uses them at school. I like that they are pencil toppers. The reason I got them in the first place was because all of our pencils were missing their erasers and were chewed up. My grandson said they were a little hard to put on but once they were on, they stayed on. I thought they were a little pricey but they seem to be worth it. I just hope he doesn't lose them.I would recommend them to other parents who have kids with ADHD. They do help.

Works great (a choice of colors would have gotten the product 5 stars)
Our son tends to chew erasers and pencil tips. We puchased a set of these "toppers" and so far, they work great. They're durable, fit well, and no more missing erasers. We had no choice on color when ordering (yellow was it). If we had a choice, I would have given the product 5 stars.

My daughter loves these
My daughter chews on these without putting them on a pencil, just rolling them around her mouth like chewing gum. She can sit still while she's chewing them. She says she doesn't need to jump on the furniture when she has these, so she won't be breaking our sofa or chairs any more! Hooray! I think they're a bit expensive, but given what they do and how tough they are, it is worth it.

Does it job but didn't work for us.
I bought these for my 6 year old son who constantly puts things in his mouth, especially when nervous. He is in a regular school and other than speech and oral issues, he is right where he should be in other areas. Gum would probably be the best option but not allowed at his school. Initially these worked well and seemed durable but then once the other kids started noticing him "chewing on his eraser" or making comments like "what are you chewing on?!!" he became embarrased to use them. He also chewed so hard that he would chew them off the top of his pencil and occasionally drop them on the floor and put them back in his mouth. The chews ended up not being a very sanitary or aesthetic option for him. Although they did not work for us, they seem durable and strong to withstand the toughest and roughest jaw.

Chewed to pieces
My son is an aggressive chewer. We thought these pencil toppers would be an okay modification in the classroom. Turns out he could pop them right off the back of the pencil, chewed on the whole thing in his mouth (yikes!) and cracked them in half. For the casual chewer, good. For the 'jaws of steel' kid, these aren't durable enough.

Didn't work for us
First of all, like one of the other reviewers said, they don't fit on the pencils properly. We really had to smash them on with lots of force. The girls could NOT do it themselves. And once they are on, they are ON! To take them off the pencil requires even more force than we used to put them on. When we tried to take it off of one pencil, it took the metal piece that holds the regular eraser off... and the regular pencil eraser too. Now that topper cannot be put back on ANY pencil due to the fact that the metal from the pencil is STUCK inside the hole! It has now rendered the product useless. My daughter really likes to chew on them, as they are hard and pretty indestructible. However, they are way too much of a distraction for her to use. She gets so into the chewing, that she becomes very "saliva-y" and stops doing her HW and just focuses on the chewing... not what I had in mind. We purchased both the plain one and the bumpy one, along with the star and the train. My plan was to send her to school with them, but we scrapped that plan when we ran into these problems. These are way too expensive for what you get. If they fit on the pencils properly, I wouldn't be so upset and we might use them more at home (but not at school), but they are just too annoying to put on and take off. Basically, my little one jut grabs the toppers (without a pencil attached) and just uses it as a chewy... which I do not like b/c I feel it's a choking hazard. My daughter is 6 yrs old, so she can be trusted a bit with it, but I still worry about the choking.

highly recommended
i got this for my 6 year old son to use at school. his teacher was at the point where she could not let him use pencils and markers because he would chew them up so badly. i brought this in already on pencils i had bought, and he and his teacher love it. it is very inconspicuous and looks just like other things that the kids put on their pencils. it has been a couple of months and is holding up quite nicely with moderate chewing. his teacher and the school counselor have asked where i purchased them. i would definately recommend this to other parents with a child with chewing tendencies.

A good choice at school
My son has oral sensory issues, and seeks out oral activities when he is nervous or bored, or needs to focus. At school he would chew on his shirt collar, a button, erasers, a backpack strap, etc... We found these to put on his pencil tops, to give him a "more appropriate" outlet to meet his needs. Lots of kids bite on the tip of their pencils...so this helped alot, and gave the teacher something to redirect him to.However, there are like tubes with holes on both ends. The tight fit make them stay on the pencil well. However, I wish one end was closed up, as when my child bites on it, he's still toucing on the pencil eraser at the end of it....or his saliva collect down on the pencil eraser and go down the creases, and harbor bacteria etc...The stixx themselves are pretty indestructable.
