The Lu-21 is the best selling Soprano Ukulele offered by Lanikai. With the attention to detail and easy playability it is easy to see why. This handcrafted ukulele is made with Nato wood (otherwise known as Eastern Mahogany) on its top back and sides. When this wood choice is paired with the Rosewood fingerboard it brings out a mellow tone with an enhanced midrange that is often missing in instruments in this price point. With the easy playability, and included instruction booklet written by Mary Lou Dempler you will be playing in a matter of minutes. If you have never played ukulele before get ready for a world of fun. The ukulele is an addicting instrument that can and will be taken everywhere. The standard tuning on a Soprano, Concert, and Tenor ukulele is GBEA, and on a Baritone DGBE. If you can play one ukulele you can play them all!

Perfect for beginners
I decided after twenty years playing guitar to diversify and purchase a ukelele. Having played what were essentially toys (you know the type, cheap stocking fillers for kids at Christmas)I decided to do a little research before taking a punt and purchasing a uke. All of the reviews on the internet point to this as the go to beginners uke and having owned this for two days now I am not about to disagree. The finish is really good on this item and it is well put together. The Tuning pegs are accurate, I am still experiencing string slippage but new nylon strings take a little time to settle down. It is remarkably light and comfortable to hold. An important thing I need to mention is the sound, it is really good. When tuned properly and given that I am not overly familiar with the instrument I was able to get a really good sound out of it (I learned the cantina band music from star wars, any geeks out there look it up on t'interweb. So in conclusion if you want to try out a uke I would recommend this item, yes it's £60 (which may seem expensive to some) but one thing I have learned in the last two decades playing guitar when it comes to musical instruments cheap is always nasty and this little uke is anything but!

Lanikai ukulele
As the old saying go's, you get what you pay for. Well you do on this make and model, i was looking to buy a uku as i was starting out and although it's not the cheapest out there, i decided to go for it, and was pleased i did, it's a great little ukulele. The sound that you get from it is a well balance sound, once tuned up, your ready to go. I cant believe how well it holds it tuning, i check mine every day before i play and hardly have to re tune. you get what you pay for. very happy with it.
