The capacitor in my outdoor AC unit failed. I order this on Sunday evening and it was delivered the next day, midday. It was very easy to install. I did have to add some padding to the clamp that holds it because the new capacitor is a little narrower than the original. I would recommend checking the dimensions before ordering. Best of all, it works! Fixed my AC. Faster and more cost effective than bringing out a technician.

ON one of the hotest days of the year temp got to 105, our aircondisioners went out. We have two one for up=stairs and one for down stairs. The repair tech came out and wanted $350.00 + service call each to install new capasitors on our aricondisioner compressors. I have a degree in engineering and let him know that was really out of the range of a capacitor and I would install it myself. I ordered Maxrun45+5 from Amazon and when it came the next day I installed it with no problems. Total cost of fixing the downstairs air unit was less than $20.00. Great part and great service.

The fan and compressor motors both require a run capacitor of 5 ufd and 45 ufd respectively. I needed to replace my dual capacitor and this was an exact match of the old unit. This unit is rated at 5/45 ufd, and tested at 5.00 ufd and 45.6 ufd using my Fluke model 187 meter. The manufacturer rates this unit at plus or minus 5% of the specification on the device casing. Obviously this particular unit meaured within 0.2% of its rated value. Workmanship of the unit was excellent, and my outside condenser compressor ran well at rated line current. I cannot comment on durability as I installed it one day ago.

6 yrs ago our A/C went out and we called for service - nearly $500 later the tech said that our particular A/C unit is prone to these motor starter capacitors going out. So two days ago I noticed that we weren't getting cold air and my mind went right to replacing this cap. I thought I had purchased a spare back then but couldn't find it however this guy popped up on my screen as me and the Mrs were talking about the possibility of this being the culprit - yes - someone is listening to us all the time and I don't even have Alexa!!! However, got it overnight, installed it and am now basking in cooling air pouring into my house.Absolutely perfect and yes...I bought two this time and in 5 or 6 yrs I won't have to buy another one.**** Update - Over the 4th of July the compressor line started to freeze in 90 degree weather which told me something was up. Turns out that the 1/2 of this capacitor that drives the compressor was kaput. So replaced with the spare and A/C was right back. So looks like these will give you about 2 yrs of service - so I bought 3 more. Easy to fix and saves a bunch of money.

Shipped fast and easy to replace. Had my ac unit up and running in under 15 minutes. Knocked off one due to the peice coming in with a huge dent in it. If it wasn't so hot outside when my unit broke I would have set it back but we had already suffered through 2days with no ac I didn't want my family to have to suffer another 2-3 days.

Probably same made in China cap that burned out in my pos Goodman Chinese condenser. At 20 buck keep an extra on hand. All consumer junk, designed to fail and keep the hamster wheel turning. Fact. So if it lasts 5 yrs like the original made is PRC then ok. Next to fail will be the Chinese fan or compressor itself, which then the whole unit goes in the trash anyway. This got us up and running and no rip off ac repair man. Unit just ran for 12 hours straight no problems to chill the house from 88 degrees to 73 in the 110 degrees TX oven. AC fan motor stopped working. Did some troubleshooting and found it was probably the motor run capacitor. Checked my local hardware stores first, and none of them even carry capacitors like this anymore. Who knows why. Called a couple of AC companies, and they wanted several hundred $$ to come out fix it on the weekend. F that. I’ll sweat a couple days before I let myself get bent over like that guy in Deliverance. 🐖 So into my Amazon app I went. Ordered the capacitors (they’re cheap so I got 2…now I have a spare) for next day delivery and they were delivered in the middle of the night before morning! 🙀 So rather than wait for the next day to fix my AC, I was able to get up at 3 AM, install this capacitor via the glow of my headlamp, and had my house back at the usual frigid temp I like.

Always keep a spare AC capacitor on hand in the event of AC issues. One of my AC units stopped cooling and had one of these to install and now the unit is working perfectly.
