CLUB3D CAC-1336 HDMI™+ Micro USB to USB Type-C 4K120Hz or 8K30Hz M/F Active Adapter

I have several Club 3D products, and have always loved their quality and "niche" products that usually solve my needs. I have several USB-C monitors: a 27" LG 4K, a portable INNOCN OLED panel, and the Apple Studio Display. Each of these work perfectly fine with laptops, etc. that tunnel DisplayPort over USB-C. Based on the product description (and the price!), my expectation was that this CAC-1336 would be able to take the video signal from an HDMI source, and tunnel it as a DisplayPort protocol to output via USB-C. I could not get this to work from any HDMI source, and I tried several, including NVIDIA RTX-3060, AMD 5700XT and several other PCs. No video output at all, although a few of the monitors seemed to briefly recognize there was a signal, no image was ever displayed. I tried a variety of cables that work fine with my USB-C monitors and other sources, including USB-IF certified 10Gbps cables from j5create, Amazon Basics and Thunderbolt 4 cables from Cable Matters (note - the cable that comes with the Apple Studio display never works right with non-Apple devices). More importantly, my unit got HOT! I don't mean just 'warm because it's working'. I mean too hot to touch. Very strange. So this is going back to Amazon, and based on the other review for this product and feedback from other customers, either my unit is defective, or it's not going to work for my use case. Bummed!

CAC-1336 - Worked connecting my PS5 directly to Apple Studio XDR 2026 but the highest I can get is 1440p at 60hz which still looks good. You will need to add an EDID Emulator to get 4k 120.

I assumed that because this device had required power via micro USB that it would pass power to the monitor. My assumption was wrong. If you are buying this adapter thinking that you will convert hdmi to USB-C and add a power source for an all in one solution with this cable you are wrong as well. I'm sure this cable does whatever it's intended to do, I just wish that they had stated somewhere that the power was not passive.

The nreal air glasses use display port 1.2 alt mode protocol through a usb c cable and this did not work to convert any hdmi source to the display glasses.

Works successfully with hdmi 1.4 out from windows PC +usbc cable+LG ultrafine (MD24KL-B) monitor. Happy with quality for audio and video. Reliability a bit up and down. If monitor fails to wake, re plugging into a known natively working setup eg MacBook Pro+Thunderbolt cable has helped perhaps ‘reset’ the detection in the monitor via the hdmi+clud3d+usbc when next connected

It feels like cheap plastic. Heats up when used. Screen flickers randomly and getting the adapter to work was problematic. Did it work with PS4, PS3, laptop & desktop GPU? Yeah, barely when used i used a correct USB C cable and connected adapter with it in correct order. On a laptop it sent a 1440p 144Hz singal as expected, but screen flickered randomly and on desktop, it showed like an additional monitor was connected, but didn't send out anything. With PS4 it was luck. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not.

Method with a higher success rate: Try plugging in the Micro USB power cable first, wait a few seconds, then connect the HDMI cable, and finally connect the USB-C cable to the Studio Display. Not recommended to use with Apple Studio Display XDR.

PC,タブレット、録画機のHDMI端子にCAC-1336を接続し、MOVERIO BT-40のUSB-Cコネクターにつないでも何も映りませんでした。期待していただけに残念です。
