As others have said this is not a metal license plate insert it is a polyester plastic. Material seems to be durable and I haven’t had any problems with it. Looks great on my BMW! Relocated from Oregon to Arizona and need to keep supporting my alma mater.

Such a good quality and true colors of UofSC. Fits perfectly on the car. Highly recommend.

It's very nice looking. It's plastic though, but it was super cheap so even if it eventually cracks/breaks, I won't cry about it.

This is a plastic tag but colors and quality seem great. It was a gift for my mother in law and she loved it.

As an ASU Sun Devil Alumni, I can't believe I bought this and am actually giving it a 5-star review, but it made my BYU Cougar wife very happy to see it on her car. It looks just as pictured, bright colors, crisp graphic. We will see how is holds up after a summer in the sun. The plastic is thin so don't overdo it when attaching the bolts. My only concern is that it wouldn't take much of a bump or hit to break the thin plastic plate, but if you don't plan on hitting anything with your front bumper, which we don't, then it should look great on the car for years to come.
