I know how it is. I have suffered with hemorrhoids for years and as I get older they get worse. I am a runner and I eat like a rabbit (raw fruits, vegetables, nuts seeds, half gallon of water every day, no alcohol, no tobacco, cayenne pepper tea, magnesium glycinate......I could go on for hours) You would think I'd be in pretty good shape when it came to bowel movements but nothing could be further from the truth. My problem has never been 'going', I am very regular and go daily. The problem is, my first bowels are usually hard and they aggravate the roid.Isn't it something how such a seemingly small thing can cause a person so much misery? I have been there. The pain, the throbbing, the bleeding, the stinging, the pulsating, many times left me with a permanent expression of discomfort in public, and in private sometimes brought me close to tears.Adding fiber did not work (I already eat plenty). More water? Nope. Pretty much all the advice you get from doctors and every website you click on trying to find the magic formula for relief, doesn't help when you have a hemorrhoid or anal fissure. However, it took me a while to really understand what it was I was dealing with.A hemorrhoid, is really just a sore that will not heal. Once you have that sore back there it doesn't matter how soft your bowels are. You could even poop water from back there, ANYTHING that touches that spot is going to aggravate it. The sore needs to heal, and this is where the sitz bath comes into play.I bought this sitz bath some months ago, but really didn't get the gist of what it did until recently. When you take a sitz bath, the warm water stimulates the blood in the rectal area and that promotes the healing part. I have heard that before. In fact, that is why I bought this thing in the first place. Here is what I did not understand: YOU HAVE TO KEEP USING IT. I would take a sitz bath, feel better, then stop. You cannot do that. Simply feeling better does not mean you are healed. One stiff bowel movement and you are right back where you started. I have learned that I have to take sitz baths every day, twice a day. Only after doing this has the bleeding stopped and not returned. We want the sore to heal completely and in order for that to happen, we must continue to doctor on it.I take one sitz bath in the morning and one before bed at night. I do add 1/3 cup of epsom salt sometimes, but not always. I also grease my rectum with Vaseline before bed. Even if I have a hard bowel movement I no longer bleed and I can go on with my day with a feeling of relief. Now, you MUST adjust your diet if it is poor. You don't want hard bowel movements, period. Prunes, prune juice, greens, beans, garlic, onions, plenty of liquid, etc. will help. But what many of us who are suffering in excruciating pain need is relief RIGHT NOW!(One other thing I should mention is that I stopped taking pain killers like Advil over a year ago and have never gone back. I found out that even though popping three ibuprofen when I was really hurting brought relief, it was also constipating me further. I then discovered fresh ginger root and fresh turmeric root. I do not use the powder or pill forms. I buy about one pound of tumeric root and a few pounds of ginger root (since it is much cheaper) at the grocery store every couple of weeks and toss them in the freezer. I then grate about a 1-1/4 inch piece of turmeric and about a one inch of ginger into a cup of yogurt, or I just toss the whole piece into the blender if I am making a smoothie. The combination of these two is a MUCH better pain killer than ibuprofen and they are both unbelievably good for you as well. You should eat them even if you are not in pain. The turmeric doesn't have much of a taste, but the ginger is a bit pronounced in taste. However, the relief they provide is priceless. I enjoy them both so the taste does not bother me.)Anyway, buy this Yunga Tart Sitz Bath and use it every day. I soak in water as warm/hot as I can stand it. It comes with a bag attached to a tube that fits inside the sitz bath in which you can pour warm/hot water to keep the temperature constant or raise it. I soak for 15 minutes twice a day (30 minutes total per day). I am so impressed with the results that my wife and I have been discussing if we will be able to take it on airplanes with us when we travel.Sorry for the long review, but like I said in the beginning, I know how it is. I have no affiliation with this company, did not receive the product for free or at a discount. I'm just a regular guy who knows how hemorrhoids can ruin your quality of life and negatively affect your health in general.

Read this for the Indian cure to hemorrhoids
Why didn't I buy this earlier?? I have been suffering so bad for the last one year, I have almost cried on some occasions. And I also had got fevers almost every couple of months when the hemorrhoids became severe. Spent 300 dollars on tests and even got an appointment with a GI Specialist to ask about surgery.Well all I needed was a call to my brother in India who gave me the below instructions:1. Crush a medium sizes alum rock (approx 2*3 inch) with a mortar & pestle. No need to grind it into powder; just press hard a couple times with the pestle.2. Add 1.5 teaspoon turmeric powder. and put the whole mixture in the Seatz bath.3. Now fill it with hot water, hot enough for you to tolerate. I made it hot enough so that I had to seat myself slowly and then rise up a couple of times till I got used to the temperature. You can do it your way, just be sure not to make it too lukewarm.4. Sit for 20 minutes. You can add hot water after some time if you feel the existing water has turned too lukewarm. This wonderful Seatz Bath has provision to drain excess water right into the toilet bowl. If possible do this twice daily.I did this for just 4 days and the hemorrhoids were gone!! Your mileage may vary.I cancelled the appointment with the GI Specialist. No more fevers. I can now eat, drink without worrying about the painful hemorrhoids!! It was that simple!! Wonder why I made myself suffer so much. Some points to note:1. Turmeric leaves it's mark everywhere. Though these marks are not permanent, for some people this process might be messy, especially by American standards.2. Buy alum from an India Grocery store. I am no alum expert, but as far as I know it's the right type and it's 5 time scheaper than what you get online. This is what I used - Alum Stone or Tawas 227g or 8 Oz Good luck to you all...Update (6/13/16) - I did have some relapse every time I had any spicy/acidic/hot food. With the slightest hint I used to prepare the Seatz Bath and get the expected comfort. Well I have now started using Squatty Potty The Original Bathroom Toilet Stool, White, 9" and I have never used the Seatz Bath since then. I have been eating all the Sriracha I want, lots of chicken and meat of course the Indian spicy way (way spicier than what you find in Indian restaurants). So I strongly suggest this product (and practice) as well. There are lots of detailed reviews explaining how odd and "uncivilized" it feels to be in that posture. But trust me, it works. Luckily I was brought up that way (before I moved to the western practice) so it was easy for me to switch back. I am just not sure if it is possible for people having pain in the joints.

Fits right on the porcelain toilet, easy to empty
What is the Yunga Tart Seatz Bath? It is a sturdy white plastic, put-in-place, fill-with-water device that fits right over the porcelain toilet seat. Any excess water poured into it or displaced when you sit down will drain neatly out the back and into the toilet bowl, so there's no danger of overflow like you might find if you're having to sit in a bucket. Also, when you go to dump it, there's no danger of fumbling the device and spilling water.I haven't used the bag and hosing that comes with this (which attach to the bottom of the bowl) simply because when I first got it, I was in so much pain that I had to use the product right away--no time to mess with anything, I needed to sit right then and there! And I've been just fine using it in that way.About the only problem that I have is that I need to keep a bath towel handy to cover the back of the toilet, so that when I lift the ring and set this in place, I'm not sitting down and leaning back against the upended toilet seat (I share a toilet, and I am not necessarily in the mood to clean the underside of the toilet seat twice a day in order to use this). So about the only improvement to this product that I'd like to see is a solid, attached lid that could cover an existing toilet seat, so you can lean back on a clean surface.
