A brilliant story which portrays and captures the past innocence of childhood expectation of a longed for Christmas gift. It highlights the past home life routines children had with parents and siblings while showing the subterfuge used to implant ideas about that most wanted Christmas gift. Then they are the school encounters which bring us back to our own days of surviving in and out of the classroom Throughout it was quite enjoyable.

The first Christmas Story film is an all time classic, funnier today than it was the first time I saw it. A Christmas Story 2 come with it... You may enjoy it but it is not a patch on the original.

A Christmas Story has been a favourite for years on video - and so I was delighted to see this warm, funny and wonderful film on DVD - haven't watched the second one - the first by Bob Clark is the classic -based on Jean Shepherd's In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, this film captures the stories beautifully-- performances, period detail, acting... a great Chrissy present --almost as good as a a Red Ryder BB Gun!

Got the dvd just in time for Christmas. Whole family enjoyed immensely. Would recommend wholeheartedly

My family first watched this film in the seventies and I got it this time for our grandchildren really not sure whether they would like it.needn,t have worried they laughted just as much as we did all those years ago

I was expecting more out of this movie the amount I heard about it.

In my view a very very underrated Christmas movie. In the USA a whole TV channel is turned over to playing this film back to back every December.however in the UK hardly anyone has seen it.It's a classic!
