Hard rubber seal that does not compress like original.
This hard rubber seal does not compress sufficiently to allow the toilet (510 plus Dometic Sealand) to sit fully on the floor. Because the plumbing flange takes the full weight of the toilet and the toilet occupant, it rocks a little. The original manufacturer supplied a foam floor seal that compresses enough to allow the base of the toilet to sit completely on the floor. This part caused my toilet to rock.The problem I was solving was septic smells. I replaced this floor flange AND the gasket set that keeps the water in the bowl. (Between the ceramic bowl and the plastic base). My bowl ran dry after flushing and did not keep water in it.In hindsight I should have only done the bowl gasket. I should have taken off the ceramic bowl to replace this gasket and left the plastic base installed.No smells now though!!! I praise my Dometic Sealand toilet and will now only buy original manufacturer parts even when they are significantly more expensive.This is not the most enjoyable job to do btw.
