LG 55EG9A7V 50 Hz TV

I purchased this TV to replace my previous OLED, which unfortunately suffered from an issue known as 'banding'.This is not a UK set. I believe it is widely sold throughout South Africa and U.A.E. It is supplied with a fitted adaptor for the plug. There are no compatibility issues with UK DVB standards - I can tune to all the expected channels.I love this television. I'm in the process of re-watching all my favourite movies and playing my top PS4 titles, and after many hours of viewing, I am still impressed each time I switch on. Even if it's Jeremy Kyle. The picture is simply beautiful.But it's not HDR or 4K, you cry!!!Here's the rub - unless you sit closer than around 6ft from the screen, your eyes cannot distinguish between 2K and 4K. Fact. Lack of HDR is not really an issue either, because OLED has such depth of contrast to begin with. I've compared more expensive LED and QLED sets with HDR and this set easily wins on picture quality, even without HDR.From what I can tell, this TV is based on the panel used in the previous generation 55EC930V, but has better software to improve black levels by reducing 'crush'. Essentially, this gives you more in the grey spectrum. One thing that hasn't been improved upon is the software for the actual operating system, WebOs 2.0. The bundled magic-remote works just fine, with no lag from the on-screen cursor, it's just the response times from the TV itself can be very sluggish. Netflix, Amazon, iPlayer etc. all work just fine - just don't expect them to start in an instant.PS4 is jaw-dropping.Buy one while you still can.

I bought this tv 2 months ago but I just found out after opening the box up today that the screen Edge is dented which has affected the screen. And it’s not working. What a wast of money. Is there anyway I can get a replacement screen to purchase. Someone should assist me on that

great quality tv. exceeded my expectations

This is a good low level OLED. Like the flagship series though, the OLED delivers on blacks as promised.One downside of this is the sound quality; you will not like it without a soundbar, so built that into ur initial budget.The OS is also not the latest version but that doesn’t matter except you’re an update connoisseur like I am.
