Yes I do it all the time and then use the water for a hot drink.

Is this the new 2018 edition?

The model I bought 2 weeks ago, ordered through Amazon and supplied by Military Kit Shop, is the new 2018 version. It looks different to the photo here, has a sticker on the box stating"UK OUTDOORS INDUSTRY AWARDS 2018, WINNER CAMPING EQUIPMENT, UPGRADED FOR 2018" and has an instruction sheet V4.
