Heavy Duty Nut Feeder - Large

Not a lot to say. Rust resistant, strong and robust, this is a quality bird feeder. Worth every penny. Recommended!

A good feeder that is pretty robust. Nice quality wire with cast metal base and metal cap. I wanted an all-metal construction as Squirrels have chewed through plastic parts really easily in the past and nuts have fallen to the floor. The cage is secured to the base with two posts which can be removed with the supplied Allan key. This is a very good design because if Squirrels damage the wire at the bottom (as they have done in the past) you can remove the base, snip the damaged wire off and replace the base. The feeder is long enough to remain useful after this.The only design issue is that the cap slides up to enable filling using two guide rods at the sides. These are not secured so the cap can be lifted up easily if Squirrels are a problem. I managed to resolve this by fixing a bolt through the feeder and securing the guide rods with two nuts (see photos). Not essential though and overall this is one of the best feeders I’ve had. Birds still getting used to it but it should prove to be robust enough for quite a few years’ service.

I’m adding to my collection when weaker and less durable feeders perish and give up the ghost. This type have proven to be extremely durable giving great value for money. They strip down easily for regular cleaning too.

This bird feeder is just the right size and is a string construction so I hope it will last. It's easy to clean and top up the feed. It's been a delight to feed the garden birds!

Really good value far more expensive in garden centre

Gardman Heavy Duty Nut Feeder.Well-made and will be easy to clean but the local woodpeckers seem to find it more difficult than the last one as the holes are a touch smaller. Rather disappointing in that regard.

The product is well-made and does the job fine. Just hope the squirrels have a harder time chewing through the wire mesh than the last nut feeder I had!

These used to relatively squirrel proof. However the wire now is much thinner gauge and the squirrel rip it open in just a few days.I won't be buying again

Da bei den herkömmlichen Meiselknödelhaltern die Gitterabstände so groß sind, dass sehr viele Brocken und Brösel zu Boden fallen, habe ich mich für diese Station entschieden. Das Einfüllen der Knödel geht allerdings nur von unten, indem man die beiden Sitzstangen heraus schraubt und den Boden entfernt. Das geht aber ganz problemlos.Die Vögel (Meisen, Spechte, Kleiber, Spatzen usw.) kommen sehr gut damit zurecht und picken alles restlos heraus (auch die Sonnenblumenkerne bekommen sie herausgefischt).Das Material der Station ist sehr solide und auch optisch ansprechend.

The media could not be loaded.    Beim Einfüllen Vorsicht walten lassen, die einzelnen Stäbe des Gitters oben an der Öffnung sind nicht entgratet.Ansonsten sehr schönes, wertiges Futtersilo für Vögel. Ob die auch die Erdnüsse herausbekommen, wird sich in den nächsten Tagen und Wochen weisen.Bis dahin 4 Sterne, einen ziehe ich ab. Für 16 Euro hätte man den Teil oben schon entgraten können! ;)UPDATE: Vögel nehmen die Säule sehr gut an, bin sehr zufrieden. Auf der Säule tummeln sich nun verschiedene Meisenarten und die Spatzen! :)UPDATE2: So viele Meisen und Vögel hatten wir bisher noch nie auf unserer Veranda! :-O Habe direkt noch 2 Stück bestellt, kann die Häuschen wirklich jedem Naturfreund ans Herz legen!

Die Erdnüsse sind ein gefundenes Fressen für Vögel. Bei uns hängen oft mehrere Vögel an der Futtersäule (alle Formen von Meisen, Erlenzeisig). Die Säule nimmt einiges an Erdnüssen auf. Weniger wie 2,5 kg an Erdnüssen zu bestellen ist nicht empfehlenswert, da die Erdnüsse sehr beliebt sind und die Säule nach ein paar Tagen bereits wieder leer ist. Bei wem die Futtersäule genauso beliebt ist und den Platz dafür hat, kann natürlich auch einen 25-kg-Sack an Erdnüssen ordern.

Dies ist mein zweiter Kauf.Hervorragende Qualität. Zinkdruckguss & rostfreier Stahl.Tut seit einem Jahr seinen Dienst ohne zu korrodieren.Perfekt für Erdnussbruch & Maisschrot.Nicht für Sonnenblumenkerne geeignet.Zu dem Preis unschlagbar

Ich habe das Teil jetzt eine Zeit lang benutzt. keine makel gefunden, eine gute Qualität. Das Teil kann ich empfehlen.
