More useful than imagined
The orange-coloured tinder when carefully teased out provides a 'cotton-wool-type' amount of fire-starter that will burn even in wet conditions, is enough to set on fire birch bark, light tinder wood enabling a fire to be made. Chiefly used in bushcrafting, this incredibly useful Victorinox accessory is definitely one to stow away into a Swiss Army knife's corkscrew. May be used a great many times if used sparingly. Recommended.

Perfect addition to any Victorinox multitool.
This ferro rod will last for more than 100 fires (as it claims) and the tinder is waterproof so no worries there.

cost
expensive but works

Abit too small and fiddly
Perfect product and perfectly described but I would recoup going for the toothpick replacement as it hurts your fingers when trying to set alight.

Waste of money1
Despite viewing several instructional videos online, I was unable to get this to start a fire despite using several different types of tinder. The steel is essentially too short to be able to reliably get an effective spark from it. I would say that one in ten attempts resulted in a significant spark. The supplied firestarter is basically a blob of wax with some fibres in it. Personally I will stick to using a disposable lighter and put the small screw driver back in the corkscrew.
