Can't beat Arm & Hammer! I was taught at a young age baking soda is a fantastic natural cleaner. Yep!! Was the truth! From tooth paste. Was told by the Dentist the best to use has baking soda. Scrubbing dirty dishes. Cleaning sinks & toilets. Arm & Hammer is the brand that I've trusted. Have never been let down. Yep I will stick to this basic, affordable true do the work laundry detergent.

I've been using this detergent for years, and just realized that you have to adjust the amount detergent per load based on the type of fabrics, size of load, water hardness and whether you have an HE machine or not. The goal to achieve is not a thick topping of suds, but a very thin amount of suds that you can barely see. Many may disagree with this, but those are the instructions for HE washing machines. I did not pay attention to those instructions for a long time until finally I just tried it. My clothes now are cleaner and fresher than having that thick layer of suds. Apparently, in the rinse cycle, if your machine can't remove all the suds, then a lot of "yuck" stays deposited onto the fabric, and doesn't get flushed away with the rinse water into the cesspool. The detergent loosens the dirt, oil, etc. and binds it to the suds to be carried away in the rinse cycle.Full disclosure: I usually wash my clothes on the 1hr 42min setting. Sometimes, I do the 1hr settings, though. It depends on what you are trying to do.I have the LG WT-7300 HE washing machine, so if you don't have an HE machine, a different measurement may be necessary for you to achieve optimal results of getting all the grime and such flushed away in the rinse cycle and not redeposited back onto your clothes. For HE machines that means having a small amount of visible suds as the enzymes and OXY does its work.I'm now getting the results I've always wanted using way less detergent. I recommend you experiment with the amount of this Arm & Hammer detergent. It is excellent for my HE machine using the OXY ingredient.
