Very comfortable, no leaks, and truly mess-free period sex? Take my money!
This disc is exactly the kind of product I've been looking for! I know this review is long, but I tried to cover everything - insertion, removal, customization, sex, accessories/cleaning products, etc - so if you're looking for a thorough review, hopefully it'll be worth reading.I've had 25+ years experience w menstruation and I've tried all the collection methods. After seeing lawsuits over tampons, I decided to look into a safer and more sustainable solution.I liked the cups, but the ridge on the "brim" of the cup hurt when I removed it. I tried multiple brands and sizes, but removal was always uncomfortable at best and downright painful at worst. And I always had to wear a pad or liner with it bc of leaks.I was nervous about the disc after reading some of the reviews, but I decided to give it the old college try and I'm so glad I did!It comes with a "tail" that you can cut down to whatever length works best for you. I personally cut it down to the first loop, which gives me just enough to grab onto. I worried the disc wouldn't fit right with the loop on there, but I haven't had any issues with it yet. With just that one loop, the disc still tucks up behind my pubic bone and the loop sits just under the bone but I don't feel it at all.Note: I saw someone in another review complain about the loops "poking" them after they cut them down, so I did take an emery board to the parts I cut, just to make sure they were smooth.YouTube has a lot of really helpful insertion and removal tutorials and I really recommend watching them. I was actually surprised how easy it was to put in.Just don't put it in pointing straight up like a tampon. You want to angle it back towards your butt when you insert it and then push upwards on the front of the rim once it's inside.Removal was painless and I didn't experience any mess whatsoever. I just sat on the toilet and removed it slowly and steadily, angling it the same way I did upon insertion. If you're having trouble reaching it, just push/bear down like you have to poop while you're removing it.I think the people complaining about the mess are just pulling the cup straight down and out like a tampon and then they act all shocked Pikachu when the literal bowl of liquid they're holding sideways spills.I haven't tried sex with the disc in yet, but I'm planning to try it tonight and I'll come back with an update on that experience. If you're thinking about it, I think it's worth trying it. Of course, your mileage may vary but I wish you luck with it! I'm definitely converting to the disc now and I'll be recommending it to my friends and family after my experience.****************UPDATE AFTER SEX WITH DISC IN: I was really nervous to try sex with the disc in, but after thoroughly researching the topic, we tried it and it truly was a mess-free, painless experience! Neither of us felt the disc either, which is a major plus for me. My husband is amazed.According to multiple articles, it's ideal to empty your disc shortly before sex, so I'm sure that helps to ensure there's no mess either. Don't try to take the disc out immediately after either - the sources I found said to wait at least 15 minutes to 2 or more hours after sex before removal. If you're nervous about trying sex w the disc in or you have questions about it, Google is definitely your friend. YouTube is also a treasure trove of information. If you've thought of a question or concern, I can almost guarantee someone else has already thought about it and asked or addressed it too. I was actually really surprised at just how much information is out there about the discs and how easy it was to find the answers to all of my questions.****************(Also, I HIGHLY recommend the Pixie Cup collapsible cleaning, sterilizing and storage cup and their lube. The lube is water based so it's safe to use with silicone and it's REALLY nice! It's slippery and doesn't get sticky, so I think it would be really nice for other activities too. They actually have a kit on sale on their website that comes with the cleaning cup, wipes, stain remover, a gel wash that can be used for both discs AND intimate areas, and a water-based lube for $30 dollars! If you use code freegift5 they'll give you $5 off your order, which covers shipping!)

Remove Loops
I decided to cut off all the loops for comfort and to be more leak proof. They seem to work pretty well for me except on heavier days. So much safer & more convenient on lighter days than tampons!

Saved yourself 10 years of period product money..
The set:I've spent more on a single cup/disc than I did on this entire set. Having two discs is nice because you can keep one in your bag and one in the bathroom at home. It comes with samples which is great because I've had a terrible time finding a travel soap container to fit in my very small period bag. I plan on refilling the soap container as needed. The only thing this set could possibly add would be a collapsible silicone cleaning container. It's not necessary but I do like mine. The Discs:The rim is firm enough for easier insertion and the trimmable loops are nice for removal (less blood on your fingers). The bottom is soft and flexible. It's firmness is pretty similar to the cora disc. You can flip the outermost loop through the innermost one to angle it up or down for a more comfortable fit. Because its angled between your cervix and pelvic bone there's no need for suction, which is a concern for those with IUD's. That also means there's no tiny holes to clean like a menstrual cup has. Not to mention it's BLACK! It's so hard to find darker colored disc. No gross staining to look at or try to get out.The Directions:I've been using reusable cups and discs for years but I always like to look at the directions. Compared to other cups and discs the directions are straight forward. They tell you how to clean, insert properly, and when to replace. Educational, not just vague pictures to try and figure out for first time users.Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It's a great product at a great price. I've purchased luma, cora, she, pixie, and nixit discs in the past but these are the ones I'll be using in the future unless moonthlies makes a disc similar to the formoonsa which I've seen being sold for $65.

A leaky nightmare
I have the original shaped monthlies, which I give a 4/5. All they needed to do was add a medium size to that design. As the small tends to be slightly too small and large slightly to big for my body. Even with these problems, the angled lip design prevented most leaks. These new cups are too damn soft, and there is not any angling of the insertion point of the cup (there is no lip at all) so you WILL experience a leak the moment you go from sitting to standing. Gross. Bring back the original design, and create more sizing options.

Changed my life for the better
This is the first ever reusable period product I’ve tried and I really do think it’ll be my last! (Just fyi, this is my first cycle using it and I’m on day 2)I was nervous to try menstrual cups bc I was scared of the suction and it’s consequences… A disc just seemed like a better fit for me, and oh boy was I right!! I got the two discs (medium and large) and the medium works well for me as someone with a high cervix (Haven’t tried the large out yet) Just watch a few videos on how to insert and it’s pretty easy to get it down after the first couple tries! I ended up cutting one loop off and it’s fits perfectly now with no discomfort at all. No leakage at all as of yet, and I can lay down and sleep with no worries at all. I’ve yet to work out in it, but i can’t imagine I’ll have leakage! 10/10!
