Absolutely brilliant! Knife sharpening is quick and easy. I had another cheaper model of this brand but it wasn't as good as this. My knives are apleasure to use now. I was surprised that the colour was battleship grey as in the photo it looks white. Expensive but a worthwhile investment as parts are replaceable.

If a Global knife is tour idea of kitchen nirvana, you might be happy with this sharpener. If each of your knives costs more than this sharpener, then don't put them anywhere near it.If takes off too much metal, overheats the tip, and leavses the blade badly tempered and dull.I guess if you work in a busy kitchen and have no time, or a kebab shop and just don't care, then you might find this device an effient timesaver. Otherwise avoid.

I've been using this machine for years now and my knives are always super sharp.It's really easy to use and works on most commonly used knives. It's a little noisy but then it's not on for very long.It isn't cheap but given how long it's lasted and how good a job it does I'm glad I bought it.

I bought this sharpener after trying several different products over recent years, however none have performed as well as Chef's Choice 2000. Operation is simple and the results excellent. Recommended.

I have been sharpening knives using quality hand-sharpening mechanisms for years, but it is time-consuming, especially when you want to reset a damaged edge. Having read reviews of these sharpeners, I thought I would take a chance. Firstly the 2000 will take a blunt and damaged edge (not everyone takes good care of their knives) and regrind and hone it in less than a minute. Secondly it will put a fine edge on already OK knives in even less time. I have tried it on a range of kitchen knives and also on folding knives. These are high quality knives that cost a lot more than the sharpener - Benchmade and Henckels for example. I will still use the hand sharpeners for serrated edges and polishing an edge, but no more evenings spent resetting an edge! Highly recommended. This is definitely better than the cheaper models, it takes more care of the blades as the guides are washable - so no scratches.

I have never been able to get the edige I want on a knife using steels or flat stones. I did all my knives with this, which includes a good selection of Global knives, and the edge is now razor sharp and seems to be holding well as well. Sharp knives are a pleasure to use and this sharpener does the trick. Very easy to use; you just have to be careful not to push down with any force as it cuts into the plastic underneath the blade. Those that can use other tools well may say this takes too much off the blade but I would rather have extremely sharp knives that don't last quite as long, as dull knives that last forever. Great tool!

Excellent knife sharpener. It copes with everything you throw at it - japanese knives, global etc. etc. Thoroughly recommended. Buy one.

Fantastic and sharpens knives really well and so easily. Easy to use and would definitely recommend for any commercial catering establishment.

! wird mit amerikanischem/UK Stecker ausgeliefert! Adapter nötig; deswegen der billigere Preis. Gibt es hier ab 0,49 € oder bei .....Das Schleifen geht präzise ist unkompliziert und effektiv. Die Geräuschentwicklung ist zwar hörbar, der Rasierapperat meines Mannes aber auch. Die Produktbeschreibung stimmt, die einzigen Unterschiede sind, s. o. und der fehlende Graef Aufdruck. Fazit: Sehr gutes Produkt für ein paar € weniger.

It has a plug in that is only good in the UK no adapter we have one we bought a khols and wanted one to keep at are camper, I had such a problem even getting this in the first place had to reorder but Im going to send it back and get one with a regular plug. the sharpener we have works great but we dont have that kind of plugs. so it is useless to us

Again, this product was sent to me in Belgium with a british plug. I cannot use in my state of the art kitchen with an adapter. Secondly, this is a honeing machine, not a sharpener. What I want is a combination sharpening and honeing machine.I complained about this machine, when I received it. Now, it is broken, I cannot use it. Can you please help?

I liked this model and it's perfect for my personal needs, plus I showed my wife how to use it properly. I am a Disabled combat Vietnam Veteran: 68-70, and an edged weapons expert, so I know what works and what don't. Just wondering what the next larger, more powerful size is, and how much $$$ ?
