Field Artist 5 in. x 5 in. Square Watercolor Journal, Hardbound with 80 pgs. 200 GSM, Cold Press Paper

Great size for traveling and the quality of this paper surprised me. It Is nice for urban sketching and i can utilize both sides with ink and watercolor. The only complaint was the pages did shift from the binding about half way through. Definitely buying the next size up to try too.

Seems durable I laid down some watercolor last night on it without it soaking through seems pretty thick. Surface is a bit slick so that might be why it didn’t soak in like on watercolor paper it’s more of a slight toothed cardstock. That being said it glazed well and lifted watercolor leaving a slight tintI’ve done a few drawings and media tests paper is super absorbent and no bleeding would order again

This is a fantastic little watercolor journal. I'll be traveling to London soon and plan to take this as my travel journal - a very nice portable size. The paper seems to be very nice quality (I haven't yet used it) and I like the cover material as well. The pages open nice and flat for landscape drawing options (with NO GLUE intruding into the pages like another brand's journal).I just wish Field Artist would make one in an 8 or 9 inch square size!!!!

I love the size, and the quality of the paper. It fits perfectly in my bag and I can take it everywhere. I use water color brush pens on this paper, and black micron pens, it never leaks through and the paper stays intact regardless of how many layers I put. I am careful not to over saturate the paper, and so far no waving of the paper after it dries after doing a couple pieces.

I carry it in my backpack everytime I go hiking. The sturdy cover holds up to the battering it takes inside my hiking pack.

I love this little book. I haven’t had any issues with wear as others have stated...it holds up really well. I take it everywhere with me for doodles. The size is tiny. I bought it to do finished projects that take no longer than 20 min start to finish. It’s a perfect size for that.I use it mostly for water color and use front and back of pages. They do warp a bit with water, but I like that look in a sketch book. Makes it feel used and loved to me. I have a tiny bit of trouble with pages pilling - maybe every 5th page or so.One side of the page is rough texture and one is smoother - but they aren’t all put in the same way, so it is a little random as to which texture you’ll get. It doesn’t bother me though...personal opinion on some of the “troubles”.

I haven't filled it yet but I'm working on it, it's a wonderful little watercolor sketchbook. It does break apart when you open it in the middle-ish and this could be a dealbreaker for some but I don't really care. I can glue it back in if I really need to. I wish the paper had the same texture on each side but I don't really have any complaints.

The absolute tiniest of journals I've owned. It's high quality but it's sooooo small. I forgot how tiny 5×5 is but now it's going to be the cutest of journals I have. It's really great for paint (Watercolor, acrylic, gouache) as well as other medias.
