Cracked a lot of nuts!
I cracked a lot of pecans with this. It works pretty well, but could be a little better. I’ll keep using it, but no matter how careful I am it still breaks up the meat of the nut a bit more than necessary.

Very satisfied with performance on almonds and hazelnuts!
I read most of the previous reviews prior to ordering, and I have used the nutcracker for a couple of days -- enough for an initial evaluation. At this point, I've used in on almonds and fliberts/hazelnuts, and it has done a creditable job on both types. It's nearly perfect for hazelnuts, as the circumferential 'pinch' action cracks the shell and separates the nut from the shell pieces cleanly almost every time. Only occasionally will you have to remove the nut from a shell fragment. It's also worth noting that you can cover the both ends of the cracking chamber with your free hand, which greatly reduces the ejection of shell fragments. This makes for minimal cleanup afterwards. It takes a little experimenting to determine the best positioning of almonds into the chamber, due to the shape of almond's shells. Once you've settled on what seems to work best for you, it also works well with almonds. The nut is completely separated from the shell by itself only part of the time, but it's normally very easy to remove it by hand, if cracked correctly. Sometimes, it takes pushing the partially-cracked almond shell a little deeper down into the cavity for a second crack, and that usually does the job.The handles aren't quite as long as I expected, meaning that it may require more hand strength -- and possible device breakage -- if larger, harder nuts like walnuts or Brazil nuts are to be cracked. I'm giving it the benefit-of-the-doubt on durability, however, and hoping for the best. The handles measure about 5-1/2" from the end to the pinch point where the cavity closes on the nut.

Excellent for wallnuts
Excellent for wallnuts, the best yet.Useless for almonds and hazelnuts; I wish they manufacture a smaller version for smaller nuts.I don't eat the other varieties ( Brazil & Macadamia etc...)
