I'm glad I did
First I had my doubts reading the reviews but I took a chance. I'm glad I did, I Like it a lot. I've wanted one for almost a year now. Thanks to my wife she got it for me as a Christmas present. O.K. the review the blade on mine looked Great No Holes, No Chips, or Cracks. (I guess who ever made mine knew what they doing). The blade is 25 inches long and measures 58 inches overall. Now the blade is 2 inches wide and 1\2 inch thick at the base near the hand guard. However close to the point of the blade where the hook is it's 5 inches wide. Now most of the blade is 1/8 inch thick but (It's Solid) and that line going down the back of the blade is steel that starts from the base near the hand guard to the end of the blade on both sides, That part is 1\2 inch thick too. (The Blade is all One Piece Casted Steel) Yes, It is FULL TANG. The Tang is flat steel measures 3\4 inch wide and 1/8 inch thick and goes down to the circle welded on at the end. I know this because I tried to Remove 2nd wooded pin to see if was full tang and cracked half the handle so I tore it apart and replacing with an axe handle. So don't remove the pins unless you want replace the handle.

Good show piece
The size, weight and construction are impressive but there were slight defects in the blade that took away from the overall appearance. The sheath fits the blade well, but it's made with poor quality materials and when you put it around the blade, the blade actually cuts into the sheath. The sheath is made out of a very thin plastic material. The blade feels like it has a full tang, it feels very solid on the handle, but given the overall grade I would suspect that the blade may break from the handle if given enough force. Good show piece (besides the defects in the blade), I wouldn't recommend it for any actual use.

Very well crafted and seems solid
All materials seem to be of quality and forged steel seems durable.

Awful!
Honestly I should have went with my gut feeling and passed on this. The blade is truly a thick beast, but in less than 30 minutes of ownership and a few swings against a old dry mesquite log and the blade was in shambles. Cheap dry weak handle material. And the blade is not full tang it is about 1/4 tang and crudely welded to a piece of metal to extend down the rest of the handle. If you want a blade that you will only take out of the box and hang onto the wall then this may be for you.... if you want anything to remotely cut bottles or branches with steer very very clear away and save your money.....Hopefully I get a response back from the seller to right this problem otherwise I am left to tinker with whats left in the attached pictures...

you can do much better than that in terms of quality
while it's certainly worth the money, you can do much better than that in terms of quality, for only a slightly higher price. It's full tang, which is nice, it's somewhat well balanced, but too top heavy, making it a little awkward to swing. the wood on mine came with glue, and cracked shortly after use, as did the steel, because both are extremely low quality. In short, it's a wallhanger, and will break one way or another upon contact with anything. If you're looking for something with at least a little bit of functionality, I recently bough a condor dadao for 80 dollars, a mere 20 dollars extra, and the difference in quality is absolutely staggering. I guess it doesn't really deserve two stars, but i felt it was necessary to offset all of the overwhelmingly positive reviews from people that really don't have anything else to compare it to.

Perfect!!!!!!!!
Exactly what I wanted!!!!! A bit short but definitely close to perfect as possible to a custom Chinese Spear!

LARRY'S WAR SWORD
Sword arrived well packaged, Included sheath, relatively sharp, coated with coarse black paint for corrosion resistance and oiled. This Da Dao will make an excellent edition to my Chinese weapons training regime. I added my own tassle (not Included with sword/pole arm).

Great Weapon Great Price
Leg of horse anyone? This is the weapon of my dreams! As a martial arts enthusiast I must say that this was a great deal for what I needed. The blade is not razor sharp, but does not really need to be. I do not think it is full tang though. The pins in the handle seem only decorative. Other than that the construction seems solid and sound.
