I like this paper. It takes pastel, not layered but works

There’s no doubting the build quality and sturdiness of this little sketchbook (softback 400 toned) but the binding is so tight one wonders how it can be used practically, as it needs to be held open at all times. The cover is made from a rubber type material from what I can gather, and feels very nice to the touch. Paper quality is excellent - skin-toned in colour and takes pencil very nicely.

This is a great art book, paper is lovely and it is great for colour pencils... I. Have bought this book before but was surprised to find that this book had 10 pages missing . I contacted Amazon and was partially refunded, this was obviously a return and shouldn't have been put back on the shelf without being checked.But I do recommend, as it is great overall paper.

I like the fact that this paper can put up with numerous erasures and is perfect for graphite, charcoal and coloured pencils, the last holding quite a few layers (I've done up to six). The colour also looks pretty, it is a slightly greyish biege that allows colours appear more luminous.

Liked this product a lot and will order again.Very smoth texture, blended well and the neutral grey colour was suitable for landscapes and portraits

These sketchbooks are perfect for coured pencil artwork. I have attached some imgaes of some drawings i've done. This book holds pencil very well and makes your drawing stand out. The paper is smooth and a great thickness too, even if you press hard the paper wont tear. If you do lots of coloured pencil drawings then these sketchbooks are a must. I love them and will continue to purchase them.

I use this watercolour journal for my illustrations and I couldn't be more pleased by the quality. Strathmore are a great brand for paper and their watercolour paper is just perfect. Their thick GSM is perfect for washes of colour and the paper has very little buckling which is something vital when creating illustrations. When applying watercolour to the paper it more or less sits on top of the paper and dries rather than the paper soaking it in, meaning that if you make a mistake and the watercolour is fairly wet you can simply pick the colour up with a paper towel. The feel and texture to the book is great and gives a great touch to finished pieces as the texture can often be seen through washes. Binding of the journal seems quite strong so far as I've used it. The journal is a little pricey though so I would recommend using this if you work with watercolour a lot and your budget allows it. Edit: it's been almost a year since I bought this now and this journal is still up to par, as for binding it is still strong.
