TDK BDRE-25GB-10CAKE Re-Writable Blu-ray Discs

Before I get into this I would like to say that I haven't had the opportunity to use these disks. I couldn't use them because I don't have the capability to burn Blu-Ray disks. The 3 star review is to make the point that I would have liked to have seen a clear message in the marketplace to warn potential buyers to check that their disk burners can burn Blu-Ray blank media. I have a very new desktop PC that was expensive, custom built and has a DVD / Blu-Ray drive. I have played Blu-Ray disks and burned very many DVDs. I wanted to put a few hours of video onto one disk and blank Blu-Ray seemed to be the way forward.After much trying and failing I contacted the provider of the software I use for authoring disks and they even checked my error logs and couldn't give an answer. I eventually searched the net with the model number of my disk drive and it emerged that it cannot burn Blu-Ray, it can only play that format! It can do everything except burn Blu-Ray! Why anything like that is manufactured is beyond me and it hadn't occurred to me that a device to burn disks couldn't burn in a format that it plays!Unsurprisingly I don't know anyone who has a Blu-Ray burner so I ended up throwing the disks away.

These are my first Blu Rays for my burner my UJ260AF driveThese seem good discs.Can take around 5 hours to burn the hole thing on my drive but they seem good and can be reused if I buy the films after and used for other things.I would buy again if needing more to back up and 25gb is plenty of space for me right now.

If you have the ability to record blu-ray discs they are a vast improvement on ordinary DVD rewritables. I used to think they were expensive but didn't realise their huge capacity which in fact makes them cheaper. Plus they are really fast to record to. We are faced with having to return our Panasonic DVD hard drive for repair so needed to back up hours and hours of stored TV recordings just in case, preferably retaining broadcast quality / Hi Def. With these you cannot tell the difference between the original recording and the copy. They have made the task so much easier and quicker (once I taught the husband where he was going wrong!).

once upon a time this brand had no equal but somewhere along the line something happened and with regret it's gone downhill. my advice would be is to go for the Panasonic (made in japan only)as I'm not sure the other brands are keeping up in this very narrowing market in which people back up to disc's as most people back up to hard drives if they even back up at all

I like the reliability of TDK discs; it's a shame that they have become so expensive.

Have purchased these a few times in the past always good . Its just a shame that rewrites are only two speed for this reason only 4 stars

Great value of these Blu-Ray RW discs. I have been using them with Sony Movie Studio HD Platinum and none of the discs have let me down yet. One good thing about these discs, if you create a Home Movie and it doesn't come out right, at least you can format the discs and use it again, none get wasted. Great buy.

TDK have very good reputation and rightly so their re-writable blu-ray discs are of high quality and reliable recommended to people who require high standards. Rob.
