Nice book!
It’s okay, learned a lot about mixing color. I have read better and definitely worse. Easy read and nice pictures to follow along.

Painting Flowers and Plants Janet Whittle
This is a brilliant "tool" for any would-be flower artist, hobby painter - or an established painter who just needs an extra creative push! Janet Whittle has an exceptionally easy style of explaining in words and showing, in painting ... just how an expert does it!!!Her detailed descrptions of paints and how to use them makes it easy to understand -- and sections on drawing, using photographs, composition and techniques are excellent. For a would-be artist my library of books is quite extensive ... this book is a highlight!

So-So Instructions
As with lots of educational and instructional art books, the artist has a difficult time conveying how to recreate what they've done. Often, You try to get from here to there, but the artist has skipped three or four steps along the way. The photographs are beautiful and if you work hard enough you can recreate something like them. The work is great but it's not the best 'how to' book on Watercolors. Good 'how to' books on Watercolor are very hard to find.

Good reading for new painter
One who is just getting into watercolor maybe their first year will learn from this. Someone doing it awhile longer may even pick up a point or find it a good review. I've been into w.c. quite a few years. I enjoyed reading it & I'm passing it on to a frind who started about a yr ago.

worth it
I liked this book because there are many full page illustrations- which makes it easier to copy and learn. I have bought too many books where the pictures are too small to see the strokes or colors. The instructions are specific. As a flower lover and painter, I am happy with my purchase. This is a good beginner or intermediate watercolor instruction book.

used book in perfect condition
This is the first time I buy a used book and I must say it was in perfect condition, you could see some pages had been opened but you really had to look to find it.What was most surprising and I must say it still brings a smile on my face as the previous reader and seller put a personal not in for me and hoped I enjoy the book. That was very nice from him and very much appreciated. I have left it in the book . Thank you

If you're into flower painting get this quick!
Janet Whittle is my favourite flower painter - so inspirational. She has given me the confidence to create my own flower paintings. They are fairly loose, bright and colourful, capturing the essence of the blooms....cant wait to get the next one.
