This time around though, I'm blown away and pleasantly surprised with "Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors". This sounds like what should've came after "Speakerboxx" initially.Basically, Big Boi holds nothing back here; the music dabbles in funk, electronic, rock, R&B, soul, and straight-up rap. Big Boi's rhymes are some of the best he's ever done in my opinion; still rapping about sex/street mentality but acknowledges that he's more mature now and there's more to life (God is praised a lot). The guests on here are amazing and compliment Big Boi's rhymes or are great in their own right.A lot of people are still waiting for the next Outkast album but I have to say, if Big Boi keeps making records this good, he doesn't need Andre 3000 to help him lift the music up (even though I'd love to hear another Outkast album). That's how good this record is.If you're a fan of Outkast, don't sleep on this album. After Sir Lucious Leftfoot (his previous album), I was a little worried. Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors does not disappoint though. Big Boi's ability to present a project that still represents Dungeon Family yet gives HIS unique twist on it as opposed to trying to recapture the magic he had in the group with Andre 3000.On songs like "The A" and "CPU", Big Boi breaks new ground without betraying the ATLien sound he helped to architect. Then on songs such as "Rasberries" and "She Hate Me", he brings his own mellow, love-song attitude to amazing tracks that most of his counterparts are afraid to venture to.Throughout the album, you can be guaranteed music that is both great to ride around to in your caddy or play it at a party and forget about changing the disc until it is over.While is ex-partner is still deciding if he still loves H.E.R. or not, Big Boi is showing that he won't stop making great music until HE decides to. His lyrically flow is always on point and his beats are always bass heavy! This album is nice... a put it in and hit play type of album... and you don't get that much today. One or two of the songs are mediocre... but the remaining all got at least 4 our of 5 stars on my ipod with two getting 5 out of 5... so it balances out at a SOLID 4 stars out of 5.He strays from his normal South type music and goes computery this time.
