Definitely a loud sound so you will absolutely hear your loved one calling. You can either push the button or pull the string. To stop just push or pull the string again. Very simple and easy to use. It doesn’t come with batteries.

SOS Call Bell
I got this caregiver pager button for my Dad who isn't in the best of shape right now.Just like the ones in the hospital, you can pull the rope or press the button in the case of an emergency.The alarm is loud enough to hear from adjacent rooms and it lasts 15 seconds.The alarm is powered by 2 AA batteries.I'm happy with this and it is just a part of the safety toolkit I'm building for my parents as they age.
