Okay so I thought maybe if I got my hair color lifted as high as I could and left the toner on a little while longer, I could achieve an icy kinda silvery white (spoiler: I couldn’t). I mean just don’t package it and name it the way it is if that is not what will be achieved 🫠 now I did get the PERFECT platinum blonde that I would’ve lovedddd a year ago but I needed even more ice and more cool toned lol. I do have a before pic (with my crazy sectioning going on) and a pic where the back half was toned and the front half was not (I have to bleach/tone my hair in 2 parts cause I have sooooooo much hair so that 3rd pic will be after I rinsed out the first half) 4th pic is it toned and towel dried andddd then before it could dry fully I was craving the silvery white too bad and tried to throw on some weird concoction of purple conditioner/bluish dye I threw together at one point in time when I didn’t feel like buying more toner lol and sat with that on my hair too long and it was a bit uneven so some of those blonde parts still peek thru but i guess I’ll include a pic of that too? Sorry im too impulsive and impatient 🥲 but anyways if you’re aiming for platinum then YES get this it’s incredible. But if you want an icy silvery white you will be let down. Still giving 5 stars tho cause it did exactly as all the reviews were saying of people who used it for the purpose of achieving platinum and I’m just a dummy who doesn’t listen

This is the first time I have tried this one and it worked great! I’ve never had better results with any off the other numbers I’ve tried. I have very damaged pourous hair and usually it turns gray or green with a toner. This one took away all my very light orange and yellow and left me with a nice silvery blonde. I used 10 vol developer and a few drops of the 050 additive and left it on for 30 mins. Wish I took a before and after pic! This will be my new go too!

My natural haircut is brownish black with hints of red. Charm never disappoints. I used this shade (Polar Ice) over Tones & Textures Luminous Golden Blonde to tone down the gold & add some “ice.” It worked perfectly. Gave overall shimmer.

First photo is after bleaching. Second is after toning. I am a natural redhead with darker hair, so even after bleaching at home I still have some residual brassiness. I was really happy with the way this toner really neutralized the yellow tones that didn’t lift all the way with the bleach. I would much rather use this toner than try to do another bleach at a later time. After this experience, I’m really interested to try other Wella products.

I’m sure this product works for other hair colors. I have dark hair that was not lifting enough - too much orange/red tones for this toner to ever reach its potential.

This works extremely well. I had been using the T18 for years. But it got to the point clients at my workplace were making fun of the purple overtones in my hair. I have used this twice and worked perfect both times. The polar ice color tones the yellow tones out without the worry of purple tones. It’s like magic. I also enjoy the cream formula over the T18 liquid. If you’re on the fence about trying it. Go for it.

It's not a pleasant color. I've tried it on multiple shades of blonde and brassy brown hair and bleached hair. Any shade I used it over came out a yucky ash color. A mix of like pure double ash, olive green, grey. Like the color of cigarette ashes mixed with pea soup mixed with paper bag brown. Smells so strong and nasty. Really bad for your hair too. It's harsh. Also doesn't neutralize reddish brassy tones

The toner itself is very effective, but unfortunately, I received a damaged tube, which is why I'm giving it three stars. Although the external packaging and tube appeared to be in excellent condition, when I started squeezing the toner cream out, I noticed that the last half of the cream had a different color, something I had never encountered before. It seems likely that the tube was poorly sealed at the end or may have been stored incorrectly or expired, as I couldn't find an expiration date on the packaging—there were some numbers, but they didn't resemble an expiration date. Despite this, I proceeded to use it because I urgently needed to tone my hair, and I had already begun mixing the cream with the developer. I used a 10% developer and left it on my hair for 30 minutes. The result was amazing on bleached yellow strands; however, it wasn't effective at neutralizing orange undertones.
