Big bone for a small dog
I have a standard/larger sized Chihuahua, but he's still a chi, with his tiny little paws and tiny mouth. I was a bit skeptical when I got this item in, as it looked pretty large, but don't worry if you have a smaller dog because they just have more room to put their paws on the red bone holder, for comfortable and safe chewing. He is a tenacious little sausage we're working with on weight management, and VERY food motivated (as you would think) so it was REALLY important to both find busy chews AND ensure he wouldn't be swallowing the end pieces hole AND wouldn't be choking himself or hurting himself trying to chew on the long sticks. This worked PERFECTLY for the standard-sized 6" bully/pizzle chews I give him occasionally to curb his boredom food seeking! It holds the pizzle stick in WHATEVER orientation, so if the pizzle doesn't fit turned one way, I can turn it the longer way and it still accommodates.HOWEVER!!! I do not think you should try to use this with any of the big-dog pizzles (the kind that are thick-to-extra thick). Note that if the pizzle is too thick around, the width won't matter because it will not fit in the hole. The length is not really an issue unless you get one of the really really long ones that are extra thick. For a longer than 6" stick, you can just put the bone at a halfway point and when the dog gets to the end of one side, they can turn it over and chew the other side down, so the middle part becomes the end piece you throw away. But if the pizzle is too THICK it will not fit no matter the length. Also, the material of the bone is not one I would give to a large-breed that is a heavy chewer, as they WILL chew into the material to get the stick loose and it IS plastic (not to be digested). If your dog is likely to chew on the actual bone, you may want to only offer this and the pizzle with supervision, or take the pizzle and holder BOTH away before they get down to the nubbins and start chewing on the holder directly. My chi is a light to medium chewer with teeth that are not too sharp, so it is safe for him, but I would probably not buy one of these for my neighbors who have a great pyrenes LGD.All in all, this is a great product that does exactly what it says it will do. As long as you make sure you use the right size of pizzle and watch to see if your dog tries to chew on the bone directly so you can intervene if they do, this is a GREAT product and I highly recommend it. Especially for the medium-to-extrasmall breed dogs. If you have a smaller dog, this is VERY good for safe chewing!

#1 out of four I tested
There are many variations of Bully Stick (BS) holders, and I couldn't decide between four of them that are all pretty similar. So, I decided to buy all four and try them out. Full disclosure, my testing was done only with 7" BS's, which naturally vary in diameter. All four holders are pretty good, but there are some differences worth considering. This is how I ranked them.#1 (GoSports [Red] - 5 stars): The best of the bunch. Due to the narrow oval shape of the opening, it's very easy to load the BS and get it aligned with the clamp, regardless of the diameter of the BS. The handle for the clamp is very large and easy to get a good grip to twist it down tight. The tip of the clamp has a flat surface, which makes it easy to get a good hold on the BS without having to align on the BS groove. The clamp also does not loosen or back-off once tightened. This all allows for minimal BS waste. The plastic material is very tough and holds up to gnawing that can happen after the BS is chewed down to the nub. It's a good size for my 65 lb. Lab to hold down with her paws when chewing the BS.Update - 6/18/24: I continue to be very happy with this BS holder, but a few times the BS was too small to clamp and hold it. What I found works well in this situation is to just put two of the small BS's in the holder at the same time and clamp them both down. This has worked well for the few times this happened, and my dog was very happy to get a little extra chew time. ;-)#2 (ChewEasy [Light blue] - 4 stars): Similar to #1, and works well, but what I like less about it is that the round vs oval opening makes it not quite as easy as #1 to get the BS aligned with the clamp. Although, this might be preferrable if the BS's you buy are really large in diameter. The clamp handle is smaller, so not quite as easy to tighten down as #1. With the ends of the holder being smaller, they're also easier to gnaw on by the dog.#3 (BoniVet [Green] - 3 stars): This one has the advantage of being able to screw the tip of the clamp all the way through the other side of the holder, which does allow for a tight clamp. However, I found I didn't really like the pointy clamp tips as much as the flat ones (like #1 and #2). With the pointy tips, you have to get it aligned with the groove of the BS to get a good hold, and that is not always easy with smaller diameter BS's. The other thing I didn't like about this one is that even after the clamp was tightened, it sort of loosened on its own. The narrow plastic parts around the holder opening also seem susceptible to gnawing damage, although I haven't used it enough to say if it's a real problem.#4 (Bow Wow Labs [Dark blue] - 3 stars): This was actually the first style I bought, but there was enough I didn't like about it, that it caused me to look at the others. As mentioned with #3, I don't care for the pointy clamp tip. The round opening versus oval is less desirable for small BS's but may be needed for larger ones. The clamp itself does not screw in far enough to completely close the gap, so some of the smaller diameter BS could not be tightly clamped down, and my dog was able to get them out and swallow the BS nub. This probably only happened <5% of the time, but it sort of defeats the purpose of the holder. Also, the clamp can only be adjusted with your fingers, not your whole hand, so it's a little harder to tighten and loosen than the others. The edges on the ends of the holder are hard, but easy to gnaw on. So, this model is probably OK for really large BS's, but I found it less useful for the smaller ones.

Wonderful!
Ordered one for each dog. They love them!! Strong and holds bully stick very secure. They safely chew the bully sticks right down to small nubs. These are a huge life saver as our pup has swallowed larger segments in the past requiring vet visits 😳

Easy to use even with weak hands
Purchased this particular bully stick holder because it had an easy to use tightening end. I am an elderly female with weak hands. This one is large enough so that I can use my entire hand for tightening instead of just a couple fingers. It holds the bully stick firmly in place. My dog has not been able to loosen it to remove the chew.

Small
It’s small so not all the bully sticks fit. Had to order a larger one.
