Good machine for the money
I think this is a good quality budget coffee maker. Once you get the balance of coffee right it makes a good cup,. I have a 1l thermal mug for work and the large coffee jug is perfect

25 Minute hot plate? No problem -get a glass lined thermos carafe to decant to!
This was purchased to replace a 2015 Morphy Richards Accents machine, which gave up the ghost when we recently had house guests.First impressions - I like the overall shape and design of the machine. It's neat and tidy, fits into the designated area much better than the machine it replaced. I like the way the carafe fits in its space. The machine lid design is much better as it is tight fitting and there is less steam escape. Also, filling is easier since the spout arm swings up when the lid is raised. One word of caution - because of the shiny, pseudo chrome finish on the handle of the carafe, make sure it and your hand is dry when handling, otherwise it will be very slippery.Performance - Before using it for the first time, all removable parts were hand washed in warm, soapy water and rinsed. The machine had a pot of vinegar and water run through, then three pots of cold water. There was no plastic smell or taste in the first pot of coffee. This machine brews a fast pot of hot coffee. Hot being the key word.I've not tried the timer, and more than likely won't, since my wake-up times are variable and there are dogs to be seen to before settling down with the first cup. It quietly brews whilst I am going about my chores. There is a 25 minute timer for the hot plate, and once the brewing cycle ends the timer kicks in and is shown in the display. I really don't worry about this as it has long been my practice to preheat a glass lined thermos carafe with boiling water while the coffee brews; and as soon as it finishes decant it into the thermos. The coffee stays hot for many hours, the oxygen doesn't get to it to turn it bitter, and most importantly, the coffee doesn't 'cook'. NB: It should be GLASS lined. Stainless will work, but NOT keep the coffee as hot as a glass lined one does.Niggles - There is too much 'sludge', fine sediment from the filter, (but NO actual grounds) in the bottom of the carafe after brewing. We have an old 4 cup Melita with paper filters which the coffee can be drunk to the last drop in the pot. I will be purchasing paper filters to try in this machine. (UPDATE - Purchased filters and the brewed coffee is clear to the last drop! Perfect!)The digital clock is not continually back lit, only when pushing buttons, so it can't be casually used as a clock. Hard to get used to!Notionally a 1.8 L or 12 cup....more like 11 cups once brewed. Can not compensate by adding a little additional water to the reservoir as is full to the top with the 1.8 measure mark.Having trouble getting the same strength of coffee from it as from the old machine - without adding more beans. We are up to the third setting, using the same measure used with all the filter coffee makers we've had, and the coffee just has not reached the strength we are used to. (UPDATE - Either we got used to the taste, or the perfect strength for us settled in at the 3 bean marker.)I can see over time the symbols on the buttons might become worn off, but if you use them that often you should have a memory of what they were for! Like computer keys. ;)UPDATE - My husband's niggle with the machine is there are no water indications on it at all. Unless filling the reservoir to the top, the coffee carafe with its measures must be used as there is no way to tell how much has gone in. So, his practice of using the water filter jug directly to the machine is void. Doesn't niggle me.Overall, I very much like this machine. It met the criteria - enough coffee from one pot to meet our requirements (almost - we do argue who gets the last cup sometimes), makes a hot cup of coffee, brews it quickly. It does not take up a lot of room, and blends in well.I took off one star for the useless clock display and the brew strength issue. If that rights itself, I may upgrade the rating. But, yes, even with these niggles, I would recommend this machine. Now, here's hoping it works longer than a year and a day!A month on, and I've no reason to change my first impressions. I still would highly recommend this machine.

Great coffee maker and really good value.
Love this machine, coffee tastes great. Simple to use and easy to clean, no need for paper filters either. I was slightly concerned that it turns itself off after 15 minutes, but then discovered that it has a function to keep the coffee warm for a further 25 minutes which is perfectly adequate for me, any longer and it wouldn't be 'fresh' coffee. Very pleased overall, and it looks really smart and sleek too.

Makes nice coffee, looks nice in kitchen - but.......
We've had it for a few years now and it does makes nice coffee, no complaints there. But the instructions on performing a deep clean couldn't have been tried out in the development stages. It states 6 cups white vinegar & 4 cups water - I got to 8 cups and it was overflowing, did they mean egg cups?. It states that the 'clean' cycle takes 45-60 minutes - it was all over in barely 20 minutes!. It didn't clear out any muck either. The means of filling it is a bit heath robinson too, with the lid getting in the way.Like I said, it does make nice coffee, but if it should ever go on the blink, I will look at other manufacturers.

Very good ....but...
Looks good and works well but setting the clock and timer is awkward. The AM and PM on the little screen is very difficult to see as it's at the top of the screen and not visible unless you bend down and look up at it. a 24-hour clock would have been much better and easier. Be aware that once the coffee has been made, the machine turns itself off after half an hour.

Best machine bought
Very easy to use, great asset to my kitchen. Make as much or as little as you require. I have 2 of the machines one I bought in sale and had it at a steal. So impressed 2years later bought another for when my other one fails. Definitely recommend this machine.

A very good product
The only thing we don't like is the time limit on keeping coffee hot, but this is limited by law now, I am told. Not long enough, though, an hour would be much better.
