IR doesn't work with Sky+
Just to be clear my review relates to TESmart 120m HDMI KVM Extender.Like: Delivered very quickly (next day) Not subject to hidden extra Customs & Royal Mail handling charges DIP switchs to match RX to TX, if using in many-to-many/matrix mode. Similar devices use a webpage interface This is tricky if you segregate these devices into a separate HDMI VLAN from your main network & don't have static routes configures or a Wifi hotspot for that VLAN.Dislike: No HMDI loop-through on TX, so need an HDMI splitter IR doesn't appear to work for some devices, e.g. Sky+ (my primary use). This is like simlar problem with XOLORspace SL-EX200, where the issue was a narrow IR frequency band in the 38 Khz range. Sky+ remotes use 36 Khz. Have a support case opened with the vendor's Tech Support & will update this review if they come up with a viable workaround. Whilst I like the DIP switches: the instructions suggest that these set IP addresses, which should be the same on both the Tx & Rx. I'm not a networking expert, but I know that makes no-sense. The IP adddresses for the admin interfaces, out of the box are different. I suspect the DIP switches set some sort of mulicast port address, in the 0-15 range, as that's all you can address, using a bank of 4 DIP switches.

Not for streaming tv
I was hoping to use this device to send television content from my lounge up to a bedroom using my existing wifi setup. I split the HDMI connection between the tv in my lounge and this unit which I connected to my router using a short cat6 cable. I paused the TV and went to see if I got a picture in the bedroom. I was initially delighted to see the paused picture perfectly rendered and couldn't believe how simple it had all been. Unfortunately the joy was short lived as when I unpaused it the picture and sound in the bedroom couldn't be refreshed at a rate that meant it was audible or watchable. Due to an unforeseen personal emergency I have yet to find time to try using a purely wired configuration but I'll update this review if I can get it doing the job I want.

Good for networked PC
With Ether over power, this technology is inadequate (competitive products likewise) and pauses to catch-up. On a good IP network (1Gb) it works fine but, possibly because of my other equipment, my monitors topped out at 720p. The IR and USB worked fine. Slightly surprisingly, when no ambiguity, the units work even hot swapping with Draytek equivalents (less USB). If no wired IP network available, I'd go with a wireless equivalent rather than EoP.

Works on CCTV System
This worked perfectly for a CCTV system, due to an office move the CCTV needed to be viewed and controlled around 20 meters from where the DVR was located. My initial thought was it was going to be a nightmare rerouting/extending the camera cables and DVR, that’s when I came across the beauty, one cat5 cable is all it takes, works like a dream, the picture quality isn’t HD but it’s perfectly acceptable, keyboard and mouse were plug n play, could not have been easier.

Sound intermitent
Started with persistent breaks in sound, and then later, repeated failures in sound which needed reboot to come back!
