Very good artists colouring pencils
Caran D'ache have been my colouring pencil of choice ever since 1975 when my parents got me a small tin for Christmas. My dad at the time sold these so was able to provide me these top quality pencils. Anyway since then I I've owned about three more sets of these over the years and they have always been good. Since then, (40 years since my initial encounter with them) my misses wanted to get into adult colouring. So, based on my childhood and youth time experience of them I immediately recommended to get Caran D'ache! I recently bought these for for her and they are still of the same outstanding quality as they were back in the mid 70's. So if you're looking for a good set of colouring pencils whether its for serious art work or simply a hobby such as adult colouring I highly recommend these. Thanks for reading this.

The best ever colouring pencils.
I bought a set like this in 1973, which I still have. My 3 daughters also had a set each given to them. So I bought the same for my son for his birthday this year as he loved using mine. His face said it all; these pencils were his favourite present. They are extremely high quality and, as such, good value. The colour selection is perfect and they blend beautifully. You can also use with a paint brush for another effect. Absolutely brilliant pencils which have stood the test of time and you can buy replacements for those colours which have got too short to use. My son is 12, and for all the electronic games he could have (and has), for these to be his best present sums up the eternal appeal of a tin of colouring pencils. Stimulation for the imagination; you can't beat it.

Do I regret the cost?
Not in the least. Having a selection of watercolours from another make, I needed a few more individual pencils. Couldn't get the make I had so bought a few Caran D'ache. They are quite the most beautiful, satisfying pencils to use - using a blender pencil, which shades and deepens the jewel bright colours. Don't be put off by the cost - you get what you pay for and these are worth every single penny. Am so looking forward to my tin of 120.I was overwhelmed when they arrived as the proved to be more than expected. Have since spent many a peaceful, happy hour sketching. Used with the blue KUM long point pencil sharpener - couldn't be happier.

Great selection
These are delightful. The tin is sturdy enough to carry the pencils around in safely and the double layer displays them well while in use. Itβs a very good selection of colours, the leads are good, hard enough to create a line but sort enough for 'colouring in'. They blend well. What idreally like now is a tin with the remaining 40 colours tomake upthe full set but I think Iβll have to buy those individually.

How can you fault Caran Dache pencils?
You can't! Fabulous colours and wonderful quality pencils. Expensive but so worth it- a great investment for all artists. The colours are superior in my view to all other coloured pencils on the market, but the ability to use them with water or to wash water across your pieces makes it an much more useful artistic tool. This set was bought to replace my first set bought when I was only 10, and they lasted 39 years!!!This is a great set of useful colours and just as good as they always were years ago. Useful tin allows you to display your set to select the right shade as you work.

Go On Spoil Yourself!
OMG have always wanted a set of these, at school I was always jealous of anyone who had a tin of Caran D'ache, now I can afford my own and I am not in any way disappointed. The colours build so nicely and always end up the same colour as the barrel, just take a little time and you will always get the results you want, they allow for light shading, blending, and those really thick dark blocks of colour (especially the type an 8 year old really wants!!).Seriously ANYONE can use and love these pencils (only at the price you might want to supervise your enthusiastic 8 year old!!).

Quality Swiss Items
I bought these pencils for my granddaughter who lives in Australia. I had a similar set many years ago and can remember how much pleasure I had from using them. The quality is superb as is the packaging.Truly Swiss made expertise and attention to detail at it's best !

Love, Love, Love
I had these as a child and loved them, and they are still just as great. The quality of them is phenomenal, and you can use them either as pencils, or by wetting them, as watercolour type paints.I gave them to my 12 year old who is a budding artist, and she has used them endlessly at home and for school art projects. Of course, they are expensive, so are probably only suitable for a child who looks after their things, but the quality really is lovely if you are keen on art. Highly recommended.
